My 2006 Ford Fusion, driver heated seat , quit working. Passanger works fine. Checked fuses, seems like they both are on same fuse, which fuse is good... Thanks

Question: Heated seat quit working. Looking to see if anyone else had this problem.Checked fuse... fuse is good. Seat seemed to be hotter than it has in the past, before it stopped working.

What "fuse" did you look at? I am asking because those use a relay. If it got hotter than normal before quitting, it could be the mat itself.

Hi dcantwell. :D The "mat" being referred to is the heating grid which is under the leather seat cover.

 

There is a good chance that the heating grid has a break or short in it. If there is no blown fuse, this is "usual suspect" the cause of these heated seat failures.

 

To find out, you will need to remove the upholstery and see if the grid is broken. Often times you will see a small burn mark where the break is. If the grid is broken, you can replace the "mat".

It will be if the hook and loops are tight under the seat. I thought the "relay" (not a fuse) for the heated seats was under the hood. They are on my F150, and my wife's Edge.

You need to check the connection that is under the seat with a voltage meter. I don't know what the 06 color code is, but it shouldn't be that much different from the 2009, which is Yellow/Blue. Also check the Violet/Green which goes to the backrest and is in path to the ground (black/white).
