Removing Side Molding (door guards)

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to remove the side moldings on the doors? I know how to go about it because I removed them on my buddies Mazda 6 and it made it look "cleaner". I want the same for my fusion. I heard there's holes under them, but I think it's doubtful. If anyone has any incite on this please let me know and if it works I'll post pics..

It peels right off. My 06 SEL came without it for some reason or other...don't do it...Mine looked like ass without it. I bought it and put it on myself after a couple of months.

Haha I gotcha..thanks for your reply. I might do it..might not. I was thinking of taking them off and replacing them with some of that 3m chrome tape "stickers" if looks like :censored: . Thanks again!

The moldings on the doors are 2 sided taped on. I work for a body shop and do teardown, Thats how I know. If you want to, use a heatgun while you get behind the molding with a plastic flat scraper. Good luck,

I used floss while my kid kept a heat gun on it...Looked like crap with it gone though...Put it right back on a week later.
