One of the most comprehensive articles I've seen. One interesting point, they mention a 'con' is no AWD. Not really a con for me, however, I think I have a brochure at home the shows a MMH rear view shot that has the hybrid emblem and the AWD emblem...oops. Not sure if it was photo shopped or not, however, I suspect AWD is forthcoming next year....perhaps they just delayed for a year and didn't want to print new expensive brochures. I'll check and post a pix. Jack in Ohio
Oman Report post Posted August 27, 2009 There is a huge cost in both friction and weight when adding drive components to the rear wheels. In already heavy vehicles it will only be a 1-2 MPG. In a high efficiency vehicle it will be quite a bit more. I doubt they will offer an AWD hybrid sedan, though I would like to have one if it only lost 1-2 MPG since I live in Minnesota.
