FFH trunk lid pull down handle

Recommended Posts

Ford with all its great wisdom didn’t install a trunk lid pull-down handle on the FFH. For $1.89 from OSH or any hardware store you can make your own FFH pull-down handle. A slight bending of the circular ring cleat (handle) from the hardware store and enlargement of one of holes on the handle is all that is needed to fit the trunk lid. Remove one nut on the right side of the lid locking bracket. Thread the handle through the opening of the emergency opener handle slot and onto the bolt you removed the nut from. Replace the nut and you’re done. Nothing is cut or interferes with the lid operation or the emergency trunk opening pull.

Please tell me where in the hardware store you found this item. What's it called? Couldn't find one in Home Depot. TIA

Great Idea!! Thanks ..... I am definitely going to use your idea .... perhaps adding a small plastic ring on a short rope so the wife can easily reach and use.
