What is the problem with Consumer Reports? If Wired averages 36.6 with mixed driving and A/C on - what is CR's problem? I have to drive like absolute crap to get down to 34MPG.

Thanks for the post Oman. Great review. I've had my FFH since mid April. It is much better than I expected. Mileage is fine. The real surprise is how much I enjoy driving the Fusion.

CR is good at data collection, I give them a red dot for this (grin) but as for their reviews they have too much on their plate IMO, one month they do automobiles then the next month its personnel computers then above ground pools, the phrase jack of all trades master of none comes to mind ...

I too was shocked to see that the all around mileage that CR got was only 34 mpg. If I drive like a complete moron attempting to avoid getting into EV mode I might be able to get that low.

Agreed. When I am rushed and not paying attention, I get 35-36 MPG. If I pay attention, I get closer to 40.

Everyone can have a bad mileage day. I find stop and go rush hour traffic to be the easiest way to get lousy mileage. The second easiest way is go through fast food and bank drive-thrus. It is hard to avoid the bank, but I really don't have any excuse for the fast food. Maybe the mileage motivation will do something for the 20 LBS I need to lose.
