smr2112 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 Had a near identical problem with the key not cut exactly. You don't know this of courseuntil you've jammed it into your ignition. I got mine out with a bit of force and no issues, but it scared the heck out of me. Decided it wasn't worth risking damaging the ignition,so forget about it. It's a novel thing and you either get luck with the cut or not.
lolder Report post Posted November 3, 2009 I hide a non-remote programmed key in the car to use normally. You could also put it on your key chain with the Flip Key. You still have the remote on the flip, a "stiff" emergency key in the flip, an ignition key and you won't be poking so many holes in your pockets. Two thoughts: 2010 European C-max has a flip key. I wonder if it is compatible? Could a blank US blade be modified to fit in the flip key we are using?
