Online copy of hybrid Warranty?

Recommended Posts

Does any one know where I can find a pdf of the FFH warranty? Every ford link I look at that states it is the warranty for the FFH clearly reads "except hybrids" on the first page when opened. I remember finding it somewhere a month ago but have had no luck since and forgot to save it back then :( Thanks in advance for any help.

Yea, would some kind person scan one in? This is important and kind of bothered than we can't

read the specifics of this. The salesman just says "the hybrid components" are covered under

the extended hybrid warranty - but what does that include? Lots of things tie to the hybrid

system in the car.

Want to have fun with your Ford salesman, try this. On page 9/10 of the warranty, it states:

(4) Your vehicle’s unique components are covered during the Hybrid

Vehicle Unique Component Coverage, which lasts for eight years or 100,000

miles, whichever occurs first. The following parts are covered during this

extended coverage period: high-voltage battery, continuously variable

transmission and the DC/DC converter. In addition, the high-voltage battery

connector, fan assembly, thermister probe, hybrid battery pack sensor

module (HBPSM), and the battery energy control module (BECM) are

covered for the Fusion Hybrid and the Milan Hybrid only.

Ask him where MG1 and MG2 are covered. (The two Motor Generators) They

certainly are "Unique Components" but are not listed here. Are they just

considered part of the "powertrain"? Then why is the CVT covered here?

The same salesguy that was trying to show me where the alternator was, he couldn't

find it? Geez...

But seriously, where are the MG1/MG2 covered? Under powertrain maybe, but those

are definitely unique hybrid components.

I see certain states, including my home state of Vermont, have a longer warranty on the hybrid parts.

Not looking at it now but I believe it was 10/150.

Wonder what happens if I move to a different state - is it based on purchase location or present location?

California is one of those states with 10/150. If you move to a different state, you get the warranty for that state. At least that's what the dealer said.

Honestly, most of us who buy a FFH are early adopters. I would like to think that the Dave Ramsey in me would get me to drive my FFH for 15 years. However, in a few years, they will be a Fusion or something else that I can plug in and do my daily commute without any gas. It may only need gas for longer trips, etc. So, I doubt I need a 15 year warranty. I will want that car.
