Aftermarket Alarms/Remote Start on FFH and MMH

Just moving the conversation from the previously thread-jacked topic to here.

 

Has anyone hooked up third party (Viper, Python, etc) alarms and/or remote start systems to their Hybrids? Any special considerations that had to be made for the hybrid's ignition sequences? Any reason to do a full replacement of the factory alarm or should I consider just getting a remote start package?

 

Also, is there any way to get an integrated Keyfob/Key like the factory key for these aftermarket alarm systems?

Well part of your question is also my question. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and I wanted to get remote start but I did not want an extra fob. you would think Ford would have figured out a way to integrate this into the one piece fob. IE: maybe a longer hold of one button or holding 2 of the buttons together.

Does anyone know, must you order this factory installed or can you get remote start dealer installed?

And to add to that, if i have it factory installed will my original key fob still work? meaning if I did not always want to have to carry the extra remote start fob with me would the one piece fob on key still work as normal?

Hi cng. :D Yes, the regular IKT fob will work as usual without the Remote fob.

thanks for that! just emailed my salesman to add remote start to my order. Might as well have it. Could come in handy and it will add a bit to resale as well! :-)
