M.R. Report post Posted April 18, 2009 Does any one that ordered the last couple of days in March, have a vin number or schedule date yet? I'm actually interested in anyone's date ordered, date schedued, and date delivered. Trying to compare and get some idea what to expect. Thanks

ThanksOrdered March 16 here and have a scheduled build week of April 20. When I called my dealer for the status he was surprised and said this is the fastest he's seen any order go through. Update (5/1): Build date was April 22 and dealer now has an ETA of the week of May 24th.
asperities Report post Posted April 18, 2009 Ordered the last day of March and received my VIN and schedule date today (which means the info was made available to the dealer yesterday). Last week we changed the color from white to green and that didn't have any impact on the scheduling. Scheduled for the first week in May, probably delivery by Memorial Day. Thanks Ours was ordered March 15th and is scheduled for build the week of April 20th. There are some posts elsewhere in this forum that indicate Ford is ahead of schedule in producing the FFH. I expect we will see ours around mid May. It would be nice if it were before May 19th, that is when licensing fees on cars take a big jump out here in California. It is not clear to me if the licensing fees for a new car are going to be tax deductible as the sales tax will be with the stimulus package. Of course the $3400 tax rebate for ordering before April 1 is a deal. Jim
Grey Report post Posted April 19, 2009 Many orders in the dealers order bank (unscheduled) were held for verification. And even though they were ordered earlier in the year, they may not have been scheduled until verified as "retail". I ordered Feb. 26, verified 3/2, and my vehicle was produced last week (4/13). No ETA yet. One way Ford was able to accelerate the retail orders was to put many of the dealer's stock orders on hold (to help us qualify for the maximum tax credits and get our units in an orderly fashion.) I understand that Ford is still scheduling retail orders ahead of stock units (thru the end of June) to assist the buyers who have been waiting to see the vehicles before ordering.) Buyers after 3/31 may still qualify for the $1,700 tax credit. :happy feet: :happy feet:
M.R. Report post Posted April 26, 2009 We ordered a light ice blue with the 502A package on March 30. Four weeks of waiting to get a vin, and still no schedule date, was more than our patience (or lack there of) could bear. So when our dealer got a light ice blue with a 501A package, plus the navigation system, we bought it. The only thing different that what we ordered, was the cloth seats instead of leather. So kudos to those of you that have the patience (that we did NOT have) to wait for what you ordered. M.R. SmilinJim Report post Posted April 30, 2009 Ordered mine on March 31st at the end of the day and just got my VIN on April 29th. I thought they came out on Thursday/Friday, but the dealer gave me mine on a Wednesday. Newby question, will the production date show up at https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/VIN_tools/default.asp or is there somewhere else I need to go? RWFFH10 Report post Posted May 1, 2009 It appears there may be some delays with the Hermosillo plant due to the H1N1 flu out break. I'm wondering if this will add to the wait / ship time for vehicles already built in the last week or two. My Fusion was built the week of 4/20 and I was notified today to expect delivery the week of 5/24. http://uk.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/i...053175220090430

Still should have it by the end of the month. Thanks, looks like that would work if I knew the body style. They wanted the order no, vin number, dealer, and body style. They said that there is a code for the body style, supposedly 2 digit code. When I look up the vin number on the ford fleet vin number check, it says the body style is sedan, but I think I dont think I can use that. Did you have to provide a body style or happen to know that it is? Thanks, Jim
asperities Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Sorry, I'm a bit confused All they ever asked me for was my VIN -- which tells them exactly what I ordered -- with the exception of color. The body style is a sedan, but that is part of the 17 digit VIN. I'd try again and hope for a different CSR. Thanks, looks like that would work if I knew the body style. Unfortunately I didn't hear what I wanted to. The car was released on 4/21 but there is no ETA. The rep said, they would not generate one until the car crossed the border. He suggested they may be holding it for something like a full truck load. I know that there were 3 or 4 more FFH on order from my dealer, but that they were at least a week behind. I guess that would have put them smack in the middle of the plant closing. Jim
