akirby Report post Posted February 2, 2009 I usually buy X plan. When will we know if this is possible on the Hybrid? (I am not holding my breath!) It doesn't really matter whether it's eligible or not right now - I doubt the dealers would be willing to accept it anyway. X plan sales are totally voluntary. Ask the dealer if they'll accept X plan - if they say no then you have your answer. If they say yes you'll have to wait until they hit the dealer's lot to find out if they're on the restricted list. The Escape hybrid was not restricted so there's a good chance the FFH won't be, either. But then it may not matter.

fusionhybridTX Report post Posted March 10, 2009 Thanks for the info! My dealer agreed to x-plan if available. My order was confirmed on October 27. Still waiting for confirmed build week. Ford said April or May likely...Early June if not. So it turns out the way this is working is that each dealer is getting their allocation of X hybrids. On top of that, Ford has committed to building however many confirmed orders come in before the end of March without impacting the allocation. So from the dealer perspective, they are still able to sell their allocation at whatever markup they can get, and still provide x-price to those customers. Smart move, because otherwise, Toyota would have a new customer.
Grey Report post Posted March 10, 2009 The previous allocation strategy is being modified in April. I suspect that the new dealer allocations, if any, will consider the remaining commodity availability and Ford's commitment to fleet customers.

Will_Robinson Report post Posted March 11, 2009 For the past few weeks, I have quizzed many metro Detroit area Ford dealers about accepting X-plan for the 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I finally found one dealer last week that would accept X-Plan, so I pulled the trigger. Saved me about $2200 over the MSRP. All the other dealers would only sell it at MSRP. And now the wait begins....
komondor Report post Posted March 11, 2009 I just checked the Ford Site they no longer have X plan prices for 2010 Fusions so I am not sure what is going on. Kudos to all the dealers willing to sell cars at a discount rather than trying to take advantage of people!

Lantastic Report post Posted March 20, 2009 I want to thank everyone for all the information that you shared on these forums. I was able to convince a dealer to sell me their Fusion Hybrid from their stock at the X-plan rate. It has white exterior and light stone interior, which wasn't my first choice, but I wanted to make sure I would get the car. I totally completed the purchase of the car which had a VIN number and everything. They even sold it with no extra charge for the tri-coat. As an added bonus, taxes in California (I live in OC) are going up on April 1, so I saved a few bucks on that as well. They seemed so eager to sell the car I figure they must be hurting a lot. They said it should be coming in within the next couple of weeks and I am so excited to get it! komondor Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Glad it worked out for you. I think someone should start a rebate business. You get a bunch of credits for buying a Hybrid from State and federal but you have to wait to get them. if you could sign over your rebate for a fee and get the cash up front ti could work out pretty well. Will_Robinson Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Congratulations on your purchase. Please share pictures & thoughts when you get the car. I have a feeling that this board thread will start to explode in a few months when we are all (hopefully) driving our Fusion Hybrids. As an aside, I am from Detroit and (surprise!) work in the auto industry (not Ford, but a supplier to other OEMs). I sense there is a need to show others around the US that Detroit is not dead by any means, and that despite some poor management decisions and a serious operating cash crisis, the future of Ford and GM (and portions of Chrysler) is actually pretty good considering how much innovative product is in the pipeline. Being with a Tier 1 supplier, I have seen the Ford & GM models being developed that will come out in 2010 and 2011, and they are nothing short of brilliant. Detroit's problem is largely a perception problem, but hopefully cars like the Fusion (Hybrid and base models) will begin to change that perception. fffbobl Report post Posted March 31, 2009 Our dealer took the x-plan but I worked for a large corporation that is linked to the FordPartners program which in turn offers the x-plan rate on the FFH. After placing the order in February, we just receive a VIN number from the dealer today (03/31) which should cement the maximum tax credit. Manufacturing date supposedly in mid to late April for us. They are getting four FFH's and six other 2010 FF's.
peteostro Report post Posted April 2, 2009 What is the X plan rate? I never heard of it and was not offered it. Im up here in boston. Is this available every where? I already put a down payment on my FFH, do you think its worth trying to get this x plan price?
echodoc1 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 Good luck with a dealer offering you any discount plan on the 2010 FFH, but some people have reported success. A local car dealer's web site has a reasonable overview of the various plans...http://billcurrie.com/purchaseprograms.aspHope this helps.

I got an x-plan price, but then I put money down last October. In the last few days in March dealers were holding tough because of the $3,400. tax credit. Your dealer has no incentive to give you an x-plan, but no harm in asking.

Hi peteostro. :D Short version: The X-Plan is a "Friends and Neighbors" Plan offered by Ford to it's Employees, Ford Stockholders and certain Ford Partner Companies. Ford Employees can apply for a PIN for friends and neighbors which allows them to get a pre-arranged, no haggle price. This pricing is very slightly (about $50 or so) below Factory Invoice Price for Ford and Mercury vehicles, slightly above for Lincoln. The same X-Plan Pricing is available for Ford Stockholders and Employees of Ford Partner Companies. A Dealer can not/will not "offer" X-Plan Pricing. You need to get an X-Plan PIN from a Ford Employee, Ford Shareholder Services (if you are a Ford Stockholder) or be an Employee of a Ford Partner Company. Hope this information helps. Good luck. :beerchug:
