Code c0022, u3000 soft brake pedal. All the lights

Recommended Posts

Brake pedal turned to soft sadness yesterday.  All the warning lights blasted me in the face.

Cleared the codes with forecan.  Most came right back.

The main ones are

u3000 abs module

internal electrical failure.

c0022.  Brake booster solenoid

      internal electrical failure.

I can't figure out if this car has a brake booster vacuum part or what this BRAKE BOOSTER SOLENOID is.  Is the abs module the abs pump?

Is this failure likely the abs pump with the 6 brake lines going into it or some brake booster solenoid, or some check valve somewhere?

Can anyone explain how the brake vacuum pump works on this car?  I see some ford hybrid pumps are all electric and some are a combination of electric and traditional mechanical driven vacuum.

This is fascinating stuff but my mind is blown at this point

I called the dealer and they said the only recalls were on the airbag.

This car has 291k on it so I don't think the dealer will be too easy to get to do free recall work anyway.

But I'll call and ask about that recall specifically.

Either way.   Is there a way to tell if it's the abs pump or the vacuum pump?

I'm leaning towards vacuum pump, but it's guessing at this point.
