Small Lense to the right of the shift lever

I just purchased my '09 I4 SEL with blue suede package and noticed a lense to the right of the shift lever, but I have no idea what it is for, anyone have an idea?

I looked through the interior pics on Ford's website, but could not see any 'lens' next to the shifter. can you post a pic of of?

Hi prism. :D Are you talking about the little plastic cover for the "Brake Shift Interlock" emergency release switch?

 

If you are, it is described in your Owners Manual. Look in the Index of your Owners Manual under "Brakes", then "Shift Interlock". There will be a full description there.
