low beam burned out bulb sensor

Recommended Posts

I installed a xenon conversion kit in my fusion. This replaced the low beam h11 lights. Looks awesome and i love the shit out of it. when i first turn on the lights they flash on, go dim then slowy get brighter (about 8 seconds) this i believe is normal start up for xenons. There is a senor that detects if i have a burned out low beam bulb. since these use less wattage it can't decide if i have a burned out bulb or not. So when i first turn on the lights the message "check left headlamp" flickers crazy while the xenons are warming up. any way to disable this feature. or will i just have to deal with it.

Hi xenonfusion. :D No, it is not normal operation for factory HID's. But it is common for aftermarket HID kits like you have added. The Fusion (like many cars) lighting system is not optimized for HID headlamps.

Concerning the "check headlamp warnings": There are wiring harnesses that will eliminate this problem. Your best bet would be to contact the company you purchased your kit from to purchase this harness.

Good luck. :beerchug:

there is a head lamp out module that is avialable. I have it on my '08 but it still flashes head lamp out. I'll post the web site later.

I am a Ford Technician and have an '09 Fusion myself as for the message displayed there really is not much you can do for this with out purchasing an adaptive harness with higher resistance to simulate the bulbs. As for the lamps flickering and starting out dim that is pretty common for HID headlamps especially after market styles.

Good luck
