NWFlyFisher Report post Posted August 12, 2019 I have been having some issues with my passenger side front window lately. The first time I had put down the window, it would not go back up no matter what I tried. I drove home and parked the car in the garage overnight, and the next morning it went back up. Today, on the same window, I had shut the car off last night with the window cracked. This morning it will go down, but when it goes back up it stops at the same point where is was when I left it opened last night. It is almost like it has adopted a new set point of where closed is. Any ideas?
Cobra348 Report post Posted August 12, 2019 The stopping short is something I've had happen recently when leaving windows cracked to allow heat to escape. What worked for me was resetting the window stop points. Turn the car on, press and hold the window button down AND hold it for an additional 3-5 seconds after all down. Now, hold the button in the up position AND hold it for another 3-5 seconds after it is at the top. If the reset went right, you should be able to 1-press the window down and 1-press the window up. For stubborn windows, repeat these steps. I've had to try 3 times sometimes to get it to stay. billford Report post Posted August 12, 2019 Theres a safety feature to stop the window from closing if there is something in the window opening. Try the procedure to initialize it in the above post.If it still does not work, it could be something binding in the window tracks, motor, cables. Should be covered under warranty.
