Next Ford Fusion will be a crossover wagon

It looks like Ford may have changed it's mind, and won't be actually cancelling the Fusion after 2020. I have always like the Mondeo wagon, and had hoped Ford might bring it to the USA.

That doesn't make any sense. How can it be a "large wagon" that slots in the lineup under the Escape?

 

Ford has already been making a crossover wagon version of the Fusion for a decade. It's called the Edge.

No. Just plain old no. That is not a Fusion ... it's a damned SUV. Just like Mustangs are not supposed to be hybrid or AWD. It just ain't right.

I like the Mondeo hatchback and wish my fusion was a hatchback. Also wish the battery was more integrated in the chassis instead of taking up valuable trunk space.

Edge is a short tippy SUV not a version of the fusion.

Hmm If it is too big to fit in my garage ford has lost me.  I like the first one more than the crossover one.  If they made the crossover smaller however and rally tuned then they've got something.

 

I see this all the time, cars driving around like this covered in this "concealer" including ho hum SUVs that look like every other ho hum SUV.   Who do they think they are?  Do they really think anyone cares what a new model of car (especially an SUV) looks like before it is released?  I mean get over yourselves.  You're not that important and you're only drawing more attention to yourselves.
