Hey all

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

My name is Dan and I just signed the paperwork on a used 2013 FFH SE with the 505A luxery group.

I used to ride a motorcycle about 80 miles a day round trip 5 days a week and the bike got about 43 MPG. Well me and the Bike got into an accident at the end of Feb and needless to say there is no more motorcycle. So since then I have been driving my 2014 F150 Ecoboost and getting about 17 mpg hence the fusion. I got IMO good financing and was out the door with taxes and tags for less than 10k and a payment of 161 a month. I don't know if any of you have had to fill a 36 gallon tank on an F150 but its about 90+ bucks a fill up. Hoping this fusion will keep a few more dollars in my pocket.

Dan

My 2013 FFH SE consistently gets in the mid-40s. The last tankful, I got into the 600-mile club, averaging 55 mpg. You're going to love your car!

Yep. Take some time to sit in the car and go through the owner's manual page by page. Familiarize yourself with all the toys in your car. And, if you get stuck on something, there are hundreds of helpful folks here who have loads of knowledge and are willing to share.

Funny you mention that, I am trying to clear and reset my door code, but I am having an issue with it.

I used both keys to determine the factory code, but I cannot seem to clear any existing codes nor program my own code.

Plus the factory code does not seem to work. I can lock the vehicle by pressing the 7-8 0-9 buttons together but cannot unlock even with the facory code.

Take the code that you read out of the car using the two fobs and swap it end for end.

If you got 12345, the actual code is 54321.

Something I advise is keeping MPG track from gas receipts. The car computer can be off - as can the trip meter MPG - as compared to the receipt which is the REAL mileage. Example - last fillup was 41.46 based on receipt; trip MPG said 47.6; car lifetime was 45.9. I trust the receipt.

Folks in here have said that as miles build, the differences close up ... but the numbers above are based on odometer of 36334.9 miles. I dunno ... it's frustrating sometimes and bloody confusing.

Any one tankfull can throw off mpg calcs because different gas pumps cut off at different times/amounts considered full. While I was still doing what you suggest, I would get very different "differences" between mpg displayed and mpg calculated. Overall, calculated was about 2 mpg less than displayed. Then I stopped keeping track of gas receipts, as in "who cares, it's all good".

I fill at one of 2 local places ... a Sunoco and a Kwikfill. I fill until shutoff and then 1/2 open until next shutoff. At that point I am done and close the tank. Only exceptions to the fill places was when I did a run to FL and back ... but even then same fill process and brand names (Sunoco, Chevron, etc).

Ohh another little nugget of knowledge curtesy of my brother. If your one touch windows stop working as designed (my driver window would go down not up with one touch) you can recalibrate the window by closing it and holding the switch in the up position for two seconds then repeating. All four of my windows now go up and down as designed.
