FUSION665TANK Report post Posted December 19, 2017 3 trips for multiple issues but the one that never gets addressed is: It has been low to mid 20"s and definitely NOT WORKING! Seats and steering wheel do not kick on with remote start. Yes all settings are switched to Auto even climate control. I even tried setting climate control to last setting. No go WHAT TO DO...I PAID FOR THESE FEATURES. I WANT THEM TO FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED!
Timewellspent Report post Posted December 19, 2017 Mine dropped out once and had to be reprogrammed. Worked fine since.
FUSION665TANK Report post Posted December 20, 2017 I took it in last week. Finished the day early told them I wanted it reprogrammed along seeing why the car was stuck in EV mode and not reengaging the gas engine even while floored. They checked the battery and searched for error codes. They said they needed to have good reason to pull that update from Fords website ?? I said ,"a feature hasn't worked once that was billed as part of the cost of vehicle. I think that should qualify. He said that is $ 90 billed to Ford for us to do that. I sighed knowing I will be back with vengeance before 36,000 mile WARRANTY IS UP!
Cobra348 Report post Posted December 26, 2017 On my '15 and now on the '17 the heated seats and wheel do not come on as part of the remote start. Never did. Now, that said I'm nor sure that it's even part of the remote starting programming! <shrug> As for the dealer.. they are not Ford but a franchise. If another one is in the area, try them - and keep trying others - until you are satisfied with the service. As for the updates I'll tell you what aservice tech told me once ... it costs NOTHING to go to the site and check your symptoms against known problems. So insist on at least that ... and I was allowed to look over their shoulder as they did it as well. This was for a '12 Fiesta with clutch issues in the tranny. You can control the settings in the display left of speedometer for driver seat, passenger seat and Steering wheel. I'd love it if that's the answer! Thanks!

The only other setting for wheel and both front seats is Off. If these are supposed to work they don't - not on remote starting. Soooo, looks like a dealer visit. <sigh> ADDED 12/28: Went to dealer about this and I have an appointment on Jan 8 to have it looked at. With all the settings I have, the seats and wheel should warm up during remote start cycle. Advisor said it could be something from bad connection to CCM needing update. We'll see then! We'll see then!Okay ... went to dealer about this. Naturally it was 35 balmy degrees out as compared to the last 2 weeks of single-digit temps (both sides of zero I might add). Ennyhoo, here's what they did ..1. CC set to Defrost, seat and wheel off, settings for driver/passenger seat and wheel all AUTO in Settings ==> Vehicle ==> Remote Start ==> Climate Control (left screen). RESULT: no heat as determined using infrared thermometer. This replicates my stated problem. 2. Same CC setting, seat and wheel. changed the remote start stuff to OFF (only other option). Remote start the car let it run. RESULT: No heat - whiich was expected. 3. Same CC, seat, wheel settings. Set the Settings items back to AUTO. Remote start the car. RESULT: damn things now register properly! Seats were 80 degrees, wheel 85. SUMMARY: talking it over, the only thing we can think of is that somehow - even set AUTO - these puppies registered in the CCM as OFF and thus prevented proper operation. BUT ... no one could explain how the temp readings were gotten since the seats and wheel should not remote-start activate unless temperature is below 22 degrees F. <shrug> With another 3 months of Winter ahead, I'll get a chance or two to see if this REALLY corrected the issue Edited January 8, 2018 by Cobra348 1 Timewellspent reacted to this
jpohlman Report post Posted October 1, 2020 Have the dealer check the FCIM (the faceplate with your HVAC & Radio controls) for a calibration update (Ford speak for firmware). You're describing an old issue that goes back to 2013-2016, a TSB was issued for the 2013-2015s.

You're describing an old issue that goes back to 2013-2016, a TSB was issued for the 2013-2015s. 2013 Fusion Energi Titanium: Mine has an issue where ( I believe after the modem was replaced, but that's just when I noticed it), all the settings are greyed out on my remote start menu. I can no longer select heated seats or defrosts (no heated wheel option). I'm curious, what is the TSB number so I can look into it. I was thinking maybe a full system reset on the sync system may fix but I am not sure if it's part of the sync system or not. Also I thought about pulling the center stack apart to see if they missed plugging something in or didn't plug something in tightly, though I don't really know if I want to do that. I also have an issue where the car doesn't heat the coolant in the tank while in EV only mode. Wondering if that has anything to do with this. It will heat up fine if it's plugged in, but as soon as I start driving I can watch the temp gauge and feel the air get cold. I don't know if it's opening the blend door for the coolant for some reason and mixing with the engine coolant or if the heater is only working if it's plugged in (though that doesn't make much sense to me). Also, go times have never worked. I believe that's just an energi feature though, not a hybrid feature, but they may be connected since it has to do with the CC and "remote starting" as much as you could call it that. Anyways, I've been looking for answers on this issue for a while now and I don't trust any of the dealerships that I have been to to be able to figure it out. They see it's an energi and it's like they get stupid all of a sudden. Even the one that is "EV Certified" that I have been to doesn't know anything about them.
