New 2017 FFH for us!

Recommended Posts

Hello!

We just recently purchased a silver 2017 FFH and we love it! Currently our 75% highway/25% city mpg is 44 which is great. We hope to learn much about our car here and how we can best take care of the FFH and get the most out of it.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions and i'll do my best to search first before I ask. I do currently have a 2 questions that have been bothering me for a bit.

1. On the left screen where the Battery is at, I've noticed pictures online that show an up arrow and down arrow indicating recharging or discharging of the HVB. Since we have had the car I have never seen these arrows and I've been paying attention. The only indicator that shows on the battery is the circular arrows when the regenerative brakes are doing their thing. Anyone with a 2017 now of this?

2. I really like the Power flow display on the main monitor above the radio. When I connect my iPhone and enable Apple Car Play, the Power Flow screen is no longer selectable. I can get out of Car Play to the main Sync page but it is no longer there. The only way to select Power Flow is to unplug the iPhone and get fully out of Car Play. Is there a way around this?

Thanks for the help!

I had a 2013 FFH that had the up and down arrows indicating battery charging or discharging. I now have a 2017 Lincoln MKZ hybrid and one thing I first noticed was that there are no longer the up and down battery charging symbols on the left display. I assume this was a change Ford made to the 2017 software but have no idea why they made this particular change.

There are several items on the display that are missing compared to 2014-15 and 16 models. Seems strange but hopefully other 2017 owners will chime in.

In general the left display changes are not only the (dis)charge arrows (elliminated) but a digital speedo; TPMS screen that display reasonably accurate pressures. Right hand screen: Information contains Fuel History; the ABC coach (Acceleration, Braking, Cruise) and then the leaves.

FOR 2017 NEW FFH OWNERS: There are 3 MPG settings I know of - without using ScanGauge or anything - that can be reset. The obvious 2 are the trip meters. The third is the car "lifetime" number. That can be reset via the left OK button IF you are on Engage or Empower screens. Reset using right OK if you on Information ==> Fuel History. I will assume MKZh has the same screens.

TO THE OP: Power Flow is also not available if I am playing Pandora on my Android - no matter if it is plugged in or not. You're not alone, but I believe it's because there are some controls available in the app that might get confused if I skipped to another display or something.

I do believe I have the digital speedo on the left and also the 4 corner tire pressure monitor. I'll have to check but I think I do have those.
