Cobra348 Report post Posted June 28, 2016 (edited) I finally saw the new colors at a dealer in Rochester, NY. I was particularly interested in a couple of them. Nicely sunny so it was easy to get looks from all angles. White Gold - no chg - sort of a dark champagne metallic. The floor model had the light stone interior and that combo looked washed out to me. This color might be better with a black interior. Blue Lightning - no chg - lighter (by darn little) than Deep Impact Blue, this is a metallic with small flakes as in Deep Impact. Not too bad at all. Dark or light colored interior looks good with this one. Burgundy Velvet - $395 - Small metallic flakes and looks good from an angle. However if you look dead-on from any direction it appears to be a brown and the flakes are gone. With this one, it is dark enough exterior color I think the Light Stone would be a good interior choice. I really don't like how some options are bundled and I miss the Terracotta leather optional seating, but figured I'd take look and see if my mind changes at all. Based on what I saw in the above colors plus the others in the palette my preference would be Ruby Red and Light Stone interior with Blue Lightning/Stone and White Gold/Black as close alternatives. Burgundy just doesn't cut it IMO. Anyone else see these? What do you think? Edit: The White Gold was on a Platinum model, the others were on SE, Sport and Titanium. Duard Report post Posted September 19, 2016 My new car is Burgundy. What I really wanted was the 2016 Bronze colour but it was dropped so I bought the Burgundy without seeing it. I was amazed and a little put off by the way that almost every so-called colour was somewhere on the colourless spectrum or black/gray/white. So, the Burgundy sparkles in the sunlight but not in the shade, looks red, plum, brown or maybe a bit of purple depending on the lighting. I agree with Cobra that stone interior works best
hermans Report post Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) I had a 2013 FFH that was Bordeaux Red. That is the same exact color of the 2017. I put a 2013 next to a 2017 and you cannot tell the difference. I was told by a factory rep that Ford got a lot of feedback about dropping the color for 2016 and decided to bring it back under a different. Example: Shadow Black replaced Tuxedo Black. If hermans is correct that Burgundy Velvet is the same color as the one he references (I think it was Bordeaux Reserve), can the color code and name be reused? If not, then why? This is all predicated that the new color has the same mixture as the older one. Has there ever been an instance where a "dead" color was resurrected with the same name/code?
