machoman1337 Report post Posted April 22, 2016 The US Ford site no longer shows the 2017 Fusion as being a "future vehicle" - it can now be configured online from the top down. The Canadian site hasn't been updated yet. And with that, I learned some awesome news - you can still get the active park assist (which also includes perpendicular parking) on the SE model (previously, the "future vehicle" configurator implied otherwise and that had me worried). Unfortunately, the LED headlamp option is restricted to Titanium and higher. The SE model still gets the LED daytime running lights and the LED taillamps, so SE buyers aren't stiffed too much, and you can always get HIDs retrofitted later (I have a set on my 2013 SE). There doesn't seem to be a spoiler delete option on the Titanium anymore - hopefully dealers can still take care of this. I'll probably upgrade in a year or two, and will be monitoring the certified pre-owned market as well.
Cobra348 Report post Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Titanium trim level: Confused. Heated steering wheel is part of $1575 Driver Assist package, not listed in standard features of 700A BUT is marked as included in the interior section. Also, Driver Assist Package states 110v outlet is NOT available on Hybrid or Energi lines but the standard features of 700A list it. Sooo, which is right? And I would want my Terracotta Leather interior please! It's not even an option. Bummer. Whoa, I just noticed that the Terracotta leather is gone too - pity (suspecting it may not have been that popular an option though). And I'm also bewildered that the 110V outlet is explicitly stated as being not offered when my 2013 Hybrid has one - is there some safety issue? I also tried configuring a Platinum model (equivalent to Europe's Mondeo Vignale) and boy does that leather look nice... unfortunately you can't delete the moonroof, but it comes nearly 100% loaded with few selectable options other than the "cargo net" and other accessories. Pricey at $38k USD but considering many "real" luxury cars come significantly less equipped at the same price (or higher!) it's actually a steal. Those 19" rims will impact fuel economy though. I think I'll just go Titanium when I do upgrade in order to get those sweet LED low-beams (see this video for an awesome demonstration). Cobra348 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 yeah - my '15 has the 110v outlet and it's been used a couple times (small vacuum). I'm not at all impressed with the road light shapes ... and I just picked up an ESP so I think I'll be passing on a '17 (and '18 and maybe a '19). Oh well. BTW - had 30K check yesterday - 1 year, 2 weeks after delivery. That ESP won't last long. 1 machoman1337 reacted to this
machoman1337 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Fantastic news: Seems like the Luxury Package on SE models now includes the LED headlamps! No need to buy a Titanium :)
B25Nut Report post Posted May 23, 2016 This is a good article on the 2017 Platinum: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2017-ford-fusion-platinum-first-drive-review 1 machoman1337 reacted to this
machoman1337 Report post Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) As I see more photos of the Platinum in different colours, that hexagonal-grid grille doesn't look so bad anymore, though the Titanium and lower still have a nicer grille IMO. Good on Ford to make the car 99% fully loaded at $38k, though I wish there was the option to delete the moonroof and spoiler. Also, 19" wheels hurt fuel economy. Cobra348 Report post Posted May 24, 2016 Agree on the Platinum grille looking better and being a blackout phreak it won't need any treatment on the grille as far as I can see. However, the roadlight bezels just gotta go ... nope ... too much shiny. On Titanium and lower, heated steering wheel as separate option does not exist (real nice in Winter!!), nor does Terracotta leather and ACC is not a separate option but requires additional cost of the Drivers Assist Package making that one very large option. No '17 for me ... I'll wait and see if Ford comes to their senses on at least the steering wheel and ACC things. I do not want BLIS, rain-sensing wipers, automatic highbeams or lane-keep. If BLIS, wipers and autp-high can be set OFF, fine. But lane-keeping is useless here as most of the lane markings are shoddy and in Winter non-existent. I'll wait and see the '18s. djminfll Report post Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) Things have changed a bit since this was originally posted. I factory ordered my Platinum, as there is not a single hybrid in Platinum trim within 500 miles of me. The 2017 Platinum Hybrids now have:1. 18" wheels - the 19" are only on the non-hybrid models.2. The "Tier 3" LED taillights - still not available below the Titanium models (SE and below taillights only illuminate up to the trunk rim. The higher levels illuminate into the trunk area as well).3. Ford specs show only the Ceramic with Cocoa piping as available, but when i was placing my order, I was given the option of Ceramic, Terracotta, or Ebony. I chose ceramic, because I love the pics with this lighter interior, a nice contrast with the terracotta dash pieces. Also I currently have all black interior in my '13 FFH, and it's too dark. The car has MSRP of about $38K - my salesman discounted it for me, and gave me all applicable manufacturer discounts and rebates and priced it at $34K. Plus he offered full bluebook for my 2013 as a trade, so I grabbed the deal! stlouisgeorge Report post Posted December 18, 2016 34k is a sweet deal. Did that include any Ford incentives? The Platinum is a great value for all the technology and plushiness you get. For less than 35k you get a dash covered in "padded Venetian leather"? (I prefer "rich Corinthian Leather" in my old 1975 Chrysler Cordoba) I want a 2017 Ford Fusion Platinum for MPG plus safety. I have found NO other vehicle with as much driver assist technology. The fact it will manage stop and go traffic in a jam is amazing. 1 djminfll reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Stlouisgeorge, I agree! I heard from my dealer that my car should be here some time this week, I can't wait!I agree what a great value it is, with all the technology. The things I am most looking forward to are:1. My 2013 SE has heated seats, not a major issue in Fort Lauderdale - the 2017 Platinum has heated AND COOLED seats. Now that's a feature I can get on board with!2. Adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go - what a benefit for my long highway commute each day.3. Enhanced Active Park Assist - this doesn't just do parallel parking, but will back into a vertical space as well.4. The improved SYNC system - I must admit, I have not been a big fan of the SYNC system in my '13, but I'm looking forward the to "new and improved" version. Looking forward to picking up the new baby, will post pix as soon as I get it! Edited because I didn't answer the question about the price - I ran the TrueCar pricing and gave it to my dealer, he accepted it. I'm sure it includes all incentives, I doubt I would be able to get it for much less. I'm pleased though, that Ford Financial is offering 0% financing. You can split this with me since I told you about it..A new incentive was announced the day after you posted this. Ford Manufacturer Offer"Final Days" Cash $500 cash backOffer only valid 12-20-2016 through 1-03-2017Program #12992: Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 01/03/2017
djminfll Report post Posted December 25, 2016 Thanks Stlouisgeorge, I picked up the car yesterday, and I actually got a boatload of incentives! There was $1250 from Ford, $1000 from Ford, $1000 from the dealer, the $500 "Final Days" offer, and $1000 Loyalty Bonus. I got the car at Pompano Ford, probably the only dealer I trust to do the right thing (but I still checked all the figures and asked for more discounts!).
