Ford Teases New Fusion Energi, Releases Some Details About New Focus Electric

Recommended Posts

There is no PHEV in the Lincoln brand is there? A coworker has the MKS and I enjoy the ride more than the Ford. I would love to get the Energi version of the MKZ if they offered it.

I'm hoping they'll take a cue from Hyundai's playbook and use the space normally reserved for a spare tire to store at least part of the battery, thus freeing up a significant amount of trunk space.

There are also rumours that the front grille will be made a little sharper, like with the 2016+ Focus. For now I think I like the current Fusion grille more, but I need to see it in person to make a proper judgment.

As for expanding PHEVs to the Lincoln brand, I doubt there'll be much incentive to do so until sales of regular Lincolns start taking off. At least out in the Pacific Northwest, MKZs are almost nowhere to be found, let alone hybrid variations!

The spare tire space in an Energi is where the battery blower is located in addition to the charger and the air pump for fixing a flat.
