machoman1337 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 My dealer called me and informed me that I can get this recall done. My appointment is on Dec 21. Hope this helps in case anyone forgot about this recall - it was announced very early in the year but it took a long time for parts to arrive (not as long as the 14S21 airbag recall though - took over a year). This is the last outstanding recall on my Fusion so far and I hope there won't be more. Nothing has made the car undrivable but having 7 dealer visits (including this upcoming one) in 20 months (total distance of 21,000 kilometers driven) is a little embarrassing especially when only 2 of them have been for normal servicing. Good thing I bought an ESP to extend the warranty to 2019 - this is a Job 1 car and I may well end up experiencing one of the TSBs that other Job 1 owners have complained about. So far my visits have been to fix: 1. Check engine light + check fuel fill inlet warnings due to tiny leak in gas tank valve (nothing to do w/engine thankfully)2. PCM reprogramming recall in conjunction with regular service3. Left turn signal canceled with a slight nudge of the wheel, stereo power button became unresponsive requiring a hard push, and sunglasses holder partially peeled away from the headliner (got this replaced with Job 2 parts so it was a blessing in disguise)4. Dealer wasn't successful with the sunglasses holder replacement the first time, having broken the replacement part, so I got it redone5. 15E03 recall in conjunction with regular service, and I purchased the ESP too6. 14S21 and steering gear motor bolt recalls7. Upcoming 15S16 recall in conjunction with windshield wiper inspection. 2 corncobs and dalesky reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted December 9, 2015 I just received 4 reminder postcards from Ford covering my 4 outstanding recalls including the door latch one so thanks for sharing that info!
jeff_h Report post Posted December 9, 2015 I just received 4 reminder postcards from Ford covering my 4 outstanding recalls including the door latch one so thanks for sharing that info! Funny - I also got a postcard but it only mentioned the 15E03 PCM update, didn't mention the still-outstanding 14S21 RCM or the 15S16 door latches. Once I finally get the appt I will ask them to look at those steering bolts for 15R01.
machoman1337 Report post Posted December 9, 2015 I don't get reminder postcards for some reason O_O My dealer was just nice enough to call me about parts being available.

We get the official Ford letter stating the recall or that the parts are now in. Down to only one recall, 15S16 the door latch replacement. Have not received notice that the parts are in yet nor have our doors unlatched by themselves. So just waiting for either outcome. All other recalls have been fixed. GD2J Report post Posted December 12, 2015 Question on recalls, when recalls for a particular VIN get fixed/corrected, do they disappear and no longer show on owner.ford.com for that VIN?

GD2J Report post Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) Thanks, so when my dealer tells me they have no outstanding recalls for my '13 FFH, but owner.ford.com shows 15S16 and 14S21 as still being needed (not to mention 3 other field actions) for my VIN, that I should consider taking it to an alternative Ford dealer. If you know they haven't been done a visit to another dealer would be in order.

I asked about addressing them on a mileage service visit back in June, and that's when they told me both had already been performed. Time for a trip to another dealer... dalesky Report post Posted March 16, 2016 Just had the latches replaced. It took the dealer almost two days to get it done. I got a loaner, so no big deal, but any ideas on why it would take this long? They claimed to have the parts when I brought the car in.

Could be seriously overworked (backlog of cars to process) or just lazy. My car was done the same day I brought it in.

My car was done the same day I brought it in.Good part of this was that they fixed a piece of black trim on the edge of the front window along side that little view window. It's tight now. I forgot to ask for that to be done, but it was noticed and taken care of. Nice
SteveB_TX Report post Posted March 27, 2016 Dropping my Z off in the morning to have all 5 recalls done on it. At least I was promised a Lincoln loaner. Hope it is an MKC as I really want one of those beauties! :)
Abdallah Hashem Azzouqa Report post Posted October 1, 2016 Well, I bought my 2013 FFH from the US and shipped it to the middle east 2 years ago, before all the recalls started, then few months ago one of my doors had it and won't close, i went to the authorized dealer here and they said its covered by Ford but they have no parts available, so i fixed it on my own expense and kept waiting for the latches to arrive with no luck. a week ago another doors had it and i went back to the dealer and they claim they still don't have any parts. so anyone knows what are the parts numbers needed so maybe i can buy them online and fix it? talmy Report post Posted May 7, 2017 I just got notice of this recall on our 2014 Fusion. Don't know why we didn't get notice earlier since this applies unless they are spreading out the notices because of parts availability. Still waiting to be notified about parts for recall 16S42. talmy Report post Posted May 13, 2017 Just got car back from getting new latches. Got a loaner 2017 Fusion with 80 miles for free. Gas model, prefer our hybrid! If they gave me a loaded hybrid (the loaner wasn't equipped with any options to speak of) they might have gotten a sale! Service adviser (who we've had for many years) was griping about the way they announce recalls well before they have parts and says the problems really are not as severe as they seem. I suppose he gets inundated with unhappy/scared customers wanting the latches and seatbelts (still waiting on that). 1 jbomb reacted to this
