RTimothy Report post Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) Hi folks, We've had our 2013 FFH SE for about a year. It has ~ 27,000 miles on it. I'd like to ask for you assistance.* I can not get the health reports to work. It's been awhile now since I've tried calling for assistance and I've read posts here. I just can't seem to get the final step. It says its getting the report but ends up timing out.* When I fill the gas tank, it indicates 562 miles to empty. The MPG reads 43.3 - 43.2 most, if not all the time. I ran it down to only 4 miles to go. I just filled the tank and again it took 11 gallons. I usually takes 11 gallons or a bit less. I've read the manual a few times and it mentions something about the reserve after the tank indicates empty. Should the reserve be like almost 20% of the capacity?We are going to be taking a 1200+ mile trip that will include some pretty unpopulated areas and dark roads. An cooold areas perhaps. Is there a way that that I can reset or recalculate the gauge so it is more accurate then that?* Finally I'm getting down to decision time with the Ford extended warantee. My original thought was to just do the core of the car. IE engine and transmission and battery. Because, there is absolutely nothing I can fix on it - - maybe the one that includes the most is the way to go. I'd really appreciate hearing from those of you that have "been there" "done that". GrySql Report post Posted November 30, 2015 My opinion... 1. Maybe Meagan or Rebecca, our Ford Customer Service Rep's, can help you with this one. 2. Your fuel gauge is working about normal for these cars, there is no way to improve it's functions that we have seen. The plastic gas tank is 13.5 gallons and the reserve is approximately 1/8th of a tank. Remember, when driving in cold weather these cars will get lower mpg's than in moderate weather, you won't get as far per tank of fuel. 3. If you buy an ESP Warranty from an on-line Dealer like Flood Ford it is cheaper, don't skimp on coverage because these cars are expensive to fix. My FFH had the 20K maintenance today and I am now looking at ESP costs ... just in case. @RTimothy - look around at more than these dealers to see what pricing may be. hybridbear Report post Posted December 2, 2015 Remember that the HVB/eCVT is warrantied 8/100 from the factory. The ICE is covered by the 5/60 powertrain warranty. An extended warranty would only cover items not included in those warranties or for time beyond those warranties. If I were to buy an ESP it would be the PremiumCare $0 deductible. If so, the issue could well be that the MFT can't get the required data connection - either because of the carrier's data routing or the phone or MFT settings. I normally keep the data connections 'off' or on 'prompt' to keep mobile overages from showing up 'by accident'. So, you chose not to get the extended warantee?PremiumCare extends the B2B warranty, more or less. You must purchase the ESP before your 3/36 B2B warranty expires. However, the items mentioned above are already covered for longer than 3/36. My point was to keep that in mind when your calculating if the cost of an ESP is worth it. I noticed that Lombard appeared to offer up to 7 years. The anserson koch appeared to offer up to 8 years. My other forums notify me when there is a reply.I do see value in extending the warranty for the most items covered, most time covered, and most mileage. I've eliminated the zero deductable and $50 due to initial coast .If I'm looking for major cost repair protection, the $200 deductible fits. However, I probably won't bring it in for less than major problem because it will cost $200 each time. Anderson Koch Ford says the $100 deductible is the standard which to me, means most chosen plan.I'd be interested to know how many members of this group have done the 125,000 mile plan and how many times they went in for warranty service. please advise, Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
MrMikeL Report post Posted February 19, 2016 RTimothy, did you ever get your VHR to work? I had a problem with mine caused by my Verizon Cell Network Extender. I have terrible cell reception in my area, so this device routes my cell calls over my internet. Once I disconnected that, the VHR calls went right through.
