Griswald Report post Posted May 28, 2015 Not uncommon anymore, heck, I have a box full of 3D generated prototype parts sitting on my desk from my current project. We use an in-house 3D printer for rough fitment and appearance issues and a service (Protolabs) for fully functional 3D parts for testing and assembly issues. Its not cheap, but neither is reworking a $50000 plastic mold. 1 GrySql reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted May 31, 2015 Where I work we use a 3D printer as well to help with engineering and testing of new parts for production. It has saved lots of time & money.
