Cobra348 Report post Posted April 10, 2015 A-a-a-n-n-n-d-d-d of course you returned the favor by requesting the same from her. Right? I mean, fair is fair after all. 2 ceilidhdog and 13FFH reacted to this
SteveB_TX Report post Posted April 10, 2015 You lose. Go directly to jail. Do not pass GO. Do not collect $100. ;) 2 GrySql and 13FFH reacted to this
lolder Report post Posted April 10, 2015 In at least the 2010-12s, you can make the ICE run to fully charge the HVB by pushing down on the accelerator peddle about 1/3 while the car is in "P" and holding it there a few minutes until the HVB is full. Turn the car off, then on again ( new trip ) and drive home. All's fair in Love and War. 5 acdii, GrySql, Texasota and 2 others reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted April 10, 2015 heheh I got 35 coming home the past few days, so you sure BEAT me! :) Driving into a 16-25 mph head wind really hurts the MPG. Same trip without these winds can get 45. Huge difference, not to mention the car being knocked around by the gusts. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
nv rick Report post Posted April 11, 2015 We've been having 'Wind Advisories' here quite often lately. Wednesday, coming back from Las Vegas, we only averaged 36mpg. We usually are in the lower to mid 40's for that trip. Winds were stated to be 30-40mph with gusts to 50-60mph.
lolder Report post Posted April 11, 2015 Headwinds cost about 3 mpg for 10 mph and vice versa. Just moderate to heavy traffic gives you a 5 - 10 mph tailwind without the need for drafting.
13FFH Report post Posted April 11, 2015 Winds were fairly strong out of the south that day in advance of the approaching storms. Trip consisted of 10'ish miles north giving a nice tailwind, then the remainder ~30 was westerly.Temps in the upper 70's. No a/c, driver window partially down, opposite rear passenger partially down. I did throw down the gauntlet to the wife with the same challenge. She managed 55mpg. Pitiful! Less winds, 1 less person in the vehicle and 5 miles less on overall trip. Rookie!! Oh well, she just drives it :shift: while I'm the one to try and eeekkk out every bit of mileage. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
lolder Report post Posted April 11, 2015 From the earliest days of hybrid forums, the mostly male posters have lamented the fact that after their spouse drove a few days, it took them a week or more to get the mpg back up to normal. Now most of us have OCD about the mileage or we wouldn't be here in the first place. The fact is most women don't care about it as it's low on their list of important things. That's unlikely to change. My apologies to the OCD women here for whom this is reversed. My wife has never had an accident but she drives more aggressively than I and is on and off the gas unconsciously all the time. Her results are typically 5 mpg worse than mine. She loves the car.
