Hello, Newbie to the group here, sorry if someone posted this before. I recently took my 2017 Fusion Hybrid into a Ford dealer for service, and when I got the car back the tire pressure had been adjusted. The rears were set to be 2-3 lbs lower than the front. In everyone's experience is this a good practice? I for one have always assumed for best fuel economy that all tires should be set to the same PSI. I'm not so much looking for advice on what PSI to inflate my tires to (there are several posts about that), but I was more curious about the practice of making the rears less than the fronts. What have you all seen and what do you feel is the best way to go from a front vs back perspective? I can obviously change the PSI myself, but did not know if there was some benefit to the driving experience or to the MPG by deflating the rear tires in such a manner. Any feedback would be welcome....

I have a 2013 Hybrid with 83k on it. It is mostly highway miles. We are currently on our fourth set of tires. It seems that the rear tires are wearing out before the fronts. They seem to be wearing evenly across the treads.Once the factory tires wore out we replaced them with some Continentals which we paid a lot more than OE. They wore out so quick that Continental replaced them for free. They put four new tires on and they wore out just as quick. Instead of spending more money on the same tires, we decided to have the dealer install OE tires. They are again showing significant signs of wear just on the rear tires again. The dealer says the shock are worn and need to be replaced at a cost of $395.00. I do NOT agree with this as they seem fine and show no visible signs of wear. I also notice that the cars rear 'Wiggles' when going over bumps in a straight line, especially at highway speeds, in a side to side movement. Sometimes it wiggles so bad it will cause my head to wiggle similar to a bobble head. I am sure that this is related or causing the rear tires to wear quickly. Any advice on where to look or what to check? Thank you

I've blown other sidewall on my energy tire for the 3rd time this year. When I hit a pothole the sidewall just blows. Of course this is unfixable, so you need to be towed to the nearest Ford dealer. Has this been happening to others?

Hello All, I am new to the forum. I purchased a used an 11’ fusion hybrid from Ford dealership 2 days ago, my right front tire is almost completely flat in the morning, luckily I have a gas station half block away where I fill and drive to work. my question is, IF the dealership tries to not cover this tire as faulty on their end which tire is recommended for SoCal weather, long commute to work and home (35-40 miles each way) ?

My FORD Dealer can get Michelin Energy Savers set of four for $730 out the door and then add in $70 MasterCard rebate from Michelin takes it down to $660 which is a real good deal, but it is over Sept. 20 I have 78k mi. on my Michelin's, but I think I can go to 85k mi. before I need to change. I'm going to buy them now, but wait to change them till I need too. Normally it is a real good idea to have the alignment done to, but I'm getting such good wear I don't think the Dealer can do better. I picked up the tires today and it came to $730.17 Total. I applied for a rebate at FordOwner.com and was notetied that I would get my $70 rebate in 6-8 weeks. Paul

I had the car serviced today at 29,200 miles. The report came back saying that the tires (Michelin Energy Saver A/S - P225/50R17 93V) would very soon need changing. That seems very strange to me. Is this normal? My driving is mostly suburban, many hills, and I'm easy on the brakes. Service advisor said regen braking wears tires more than friction braking. I've attached the tire wear report. What do you think?

Michelin 'basic' 17" tires came w/ my Energi Titanium, WHITE vehicle. The performance is lousy and the stock rims don't look great. (My last car was a Lexus GS300 (I know, i know i know... it won't ever handle like that car). I'm looking for recommendations on a high performance tire and nice looking rims. #1- I bought this for the 'sticker' NOT for the gas mileage so please don't scold me for wanting to trade gas mileage for performance. I want the BEST handling, best performing tire. #2- Any pics of nice looking white Fusions with black rims or other nice looking 'sporty' rims? I'm thinking about Michelin Primacy 3.

After about 36,200 miles, the Goodyear LS2s needed to be replaced. They were loud, the impact noises was ridiculous, wet traction was terrible, it never tracked straight, it needed to be replaced. A lot of people recommended the Continental Pure contacts, I have them on the EcoBoost Fusion and liked it. But for my Fusion Hybrid, I decided to try the Pirelli tires because they were fairly new and weren't out when we got the Continental tires. First Impressions after getting them installed were spectacular! I thought for a while that the Continental tires were the way to go, but the Pirellis are ridiculously good. They beat the Continentals in noise, comfort, and steering feel. They made the steering feel a little bit more hefty, maybe that is because they are new and haven't been completely broken in yet. But when we got those Continentals it didn't feel like that. The Pirelli doesn't allow much of the road's imperfections into the cabin. It is a very comfortable ride. But it allows just enough road vibrations so you can "feel the road" so you don't feel completely isolated from the road. It adds more confidence and lets you know what is going on. The noise of the tires (or the lack thereof) are not perceptible to the ears at all. They work really well with the ANC in the hybrid. All you hear is wind and engine noise. The downside to that is that you will here a little bit more engine noise during acceleration now. The dealer set the tire pressure at 32 PSI, I might raise it to about 38 or 40 PSI, MPG at 32 PSI were around 41.4 to about 45.8. Those would probably increase when if i set the tires to 38 or 40 PSI. I have not driven these tires in the rain yet, *Drought over in the low country state.* I will update this post when I finally do drive it in the rain. Summery: Very Quiet Excellent Steering Response Very Comfortable, Little to no vibrations MPG at 32 PSI is better then LS2s at 42 PSI (Will get better) Price is a little high, but It is worth it Highly Recommend :)

Hi All, I am looking forward to buy a new FFH. I am a bit confused about what size tires to go for? The areas I would like to focus on are FE and ride comfort. Also does color affect the FE in a hybrid? Eg. Black color would absorb more heat during the frigid winters. PS:I know this is not the right place to ask questions related to color.

Alright, newbie here, just got the 2013 Fusion se Hybrid couple weeks ago. Happy so far besides the color. I'm considering purchasing aftermarket wheels, so far I've read that I will likely loose some mpg. Mine came with the 17" wheels. The wheel I'd like to get starts at 18". There's my question. Has anyone done this? All I've read is people changing from factory 18" to factory 19" with minimal decrease in mpg. I only have 400 miles on car so far and have averaged 30mpg. I also "heard" there is a "brake-in" period, after which the mpg would increase, where's my 47 as advertised? Any truth to that? 30 is great, just wondering if it gets better, or the way I drive. My other Ford is an '05 F-350 powerstroke 6.0 diesel utility truck for work. After all the mods on that I've averaged 11mpg in town, highway, loaded, empty, whatever, 11mpg solid. If anyone has any experience or references on 17" to 18" wheel size change on this Hybrid and the effects, please share.
