First, I tried to start my car, like any other day, but nothing, no power or anything. I replaced the 12V battery and that seemed to solve the problem, except, after having to run the gas engine for a short drive home, the next time I tried to drive it, battery dead again. After some research, I found that, apparently, after 6 years or so, the power inverted has a reputation for failing. I get a refurbished power inverter and replace the old one. Now, the battery holds a charge, but I can't go anywhere. When I push the start button, the green light on the button flashes, and I get a variety of messages on the left information screen: "Run Power Active", a big yellow wrench saying, and, occasionally, a little red triangle with "!" in the middle with a message "Stop Safely Now", and of course, the obligatory "Check Engine" light is on. Solutions I've tried: a) disconnecting the battery cables for 1/2 hour, then reconnecting. Result: nothing changes b) disconnecting the battery cables and tying them together, connecting the "+" cable to the "–" negative cable and leaving it that way for 1 hour 15 minutes. Result: nothing changes I don't know where to go from here. I can't afford to pay dealer exorbitant prices. Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
