  1. I broke the original FOB where the key itself inserts into the FOB mechanism. Just wondering if anyone here has had luck with aftermarket, budget, Amazon-style replacements. The buttons still function on the FOB, so the circuitry is good; I just need to replace the key itself. I'd rather not pay Ford a zillion dollars for an OEM replacement. Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/2013-2016-Fusion-Keyless-N5F-A08TAA-164-R7986/dp/B07MRZWWGV/ref=pd_cp_263_1/142-2542515-0480627?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07MRZWWGV&pd_rd_r=b6a67411-f944-4e67-b221-593187e38e1b&pd_rd_w=UjzEO&pd_rd_wg=OoorH&pf_rd_p=0e5324e1-c848-4872-bbd5-5be6baedf80e&pf_rd_r=CSRXWBTRERGHG9ZKZ3WC&psc=1&refRID=CSRXWBTRERGHG9ZKZ3WC Any insights would be appreciated.
  2. The dealer I purchased my (used) 2017 Hybrid SE from only delivered one intelligent access remote for my vehicle. After repeated "we sent the second one in the mail" or "we'll get it" I know they have no intention of sending it. Thus I'm currently at one remote. How much is it going to cost to get a 2nd remote and get it programmed to my VIN to operate like the first (and only) remote? Before I get the obligatory "how to program more remotes is in the owner's manual" posts, please understand to program more remotes you must have two original / already functioning / already programmed remotes. Then yes in that case, this post would be unnecessary. I also didn't get the original owner's manual which has the key code which is needed by the dealership to program, however, if I understand correctly, service departments can look up the key code via the VIN. I also believe dealerships need the following proof of vehicle ownership (don't want Joe walking in off the street to get an intelligent access remote / key for his neighbor's car): 1. At least 30 years' federal tax returns. 2. Birth certificate. 3. 30 years' mortgage statements. 4. Full set of hand and foot fingerprints. 5. At least 15 different utility bills. 6. Copy of driver's license. 7. Proof of vehicle insurance. 8. Employment history. 9. Salary history. 10. Any other data to initiate DoD Top Secret clearance.
  3. Yes. Yes.. RTFM.. But what if your Fob is dead and.. It's freezing cold outside? You are at the zoo and the tiger exhibit barrier (see below!) is breachedThe replacement fob batteries cannot be found? Your manual is missingYou like having a job and you don't have time to find page 63? Page 63 (2017 FFH) I had no idea about this (bad salesman!).
  4. From the album: My Gallery

Bet you didn't know about the secret key hole. Page 63 of 2017 FFH manual
  5. I have push button start with the Intelligent Access key. Are there any other keys that will work with the IA system? What I mean is a key that just has a chip in it with no push buttons or battery, that can be placed in the compartment in the console and used to operate the car. The glove box key that came with the car would be exactly what I am looking for if it only had a chip in it.
  6. I have a HyTi with push button start. Let's say I am attending a sporting event that is a three hour drive from my house. I drive to the venue, park in the lot, press the lock button on my remote as I walk into the stadium to watch the game. Hypothetically, let's say that when I pressed the lock button on my remote, it used the last bit of stored energy in the key battery. When I exit the sporting venue after the game at midnight on a Sunday, I press the unlock button on the remote and nothing happens. The key battery is totally dead. I know I can pry off the handle and use the actual key inside my fob to open the door. However, how do I start my car in order to drive home? I'm thinking I should buy a spare key battery and keep it in my glovebox for just such an emergency. I don't suppose there is a way to start the vehicle with the dead battery in the key, is there?
