Hello All! This will be my first addition to this forum... And I am here with a question. Does anyone know if this sound is normal when my engine starts? I've started to notice sort of a rattle on cold starts, or if it's been a little bit since the engine has been on. And the engine sounds kind of grumbly...Otherwise, it drives perfectly fine, with no issues*. I just don't want issues to appear and it be too late... any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! (2019 FFH SE with about 80k miles) *other than the battery randomly dying (got it checked and the battery was good)... but seems like the mpg has gotten worse...(used to get around 35 avg, now getting about 27 avg) IMG_3141.mov

So I’ve recently hit 70k in my 14 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE and I’ve had this loud rattle coming from the ICE when it starts cold. It happens when It tuns off too and it’s actually a lot worse and it lasts about 1-2sec longer. The sound is hard to describe. It sounds similar to somebody shaking a bucket of lug nuts aggressively. When the ICE is at operating temperature there is nothing I can notice out of the ordinary either. I’m worried that it’s internal engine damage because when I bought the car the coolant was a year past due. Any advice would be appreciated, I’ve been to the dealership twice and been told that my Car is running perfectly. Obviously not.

We financed our 2014 Fusion Hybrid used from a Suburu dealership in Aug 2017, and it was in great shape with only 20k miles. We had no issues with it until March of this year. We thought we had an oil pan leak and had a family friend replace it. However, we continued having issues. We replaced many things this gentleman said needed repair, until he got to the engine. Our piston and another part had completely melted/disintegrated into the engine. We hadn't driven the car in 2-3 months at this point. We recently had to get it towed to our new residence and part of the engine fell out. The hybrid battery is also completely dead. We don't know what to do. We still owe like 15k on the car. Has anyone ever heard of problems like these? Or anyone who is more well-versed on this topic have helpful suggestions on what on earth we could do with this car? Thank you so much. We are really at a loss here.

First post to the forum so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, but this forum seemed to have the most discussion about DTCs. Let me know if I should post this somewhere else. Bought my 2013 Hybrid a few months ago, just crossing the 10K miles and the indicator came on to get my oil changed. Crazy schedule with spring break so instead of going to dealer I just went to a local Firestone. I had noticed that in addition to the oil change warning there was also a yellow engine warning. I guessed that was just another indication to get the oil changed. Got the oil changed but the engine light was still on. I thought it might go off after a few minutes--that happened when the tire pressure light came on during a cold snap and I put some air in, light went away a few minutes later. But this time the light stayed on even when I got home 15 minutes later. Google brought me to this forum and I saw how to look up the DTC. But when I got to the screen it did have three codes, all three are marked as HIST rather than current. The three codes are: C15900 C46B86 F00316 I've seen some of them referenced on the forum without saying what they are. My question to the smart crowd here--I have two longish trips coming up in the next few days (at least 5 hours driving Thursday, then 3 hours driving on Friday and Sunday). Are these benign codes or do I need to worry? Thanks.

Anyone having issues with noisy engine in 2015 Fusion Hybrid? Dealer says it is normal yet friend with identical year, model etc runs completely different and quieter.

Ok, before I begin, I KNOW that hybrids suck in cold weather. I understand that they traditionally run cooler then the normal engine. With that being said..... I have noticed that I have little heat when operating my vehicle in cold weather, below 25 degrees. I can drive around town for an hour and it still will be luke warm at best. During that entire time, I monitor the engine coolant temp gauge. The engine warms up to just at the C line, on the bottom of the gauge. Then it fluctuates from the C line, all the way down below the C line to the beginning of gauge like it was just started. Temp never goes above the C line. Then when I drive it on the interstate, the temp gauge appears normal and the engine temp goes to the middle part of the gauge, and I then have comfortable heat. I took it to the dealer last winter and complained about this but was told it was normal. I have noticed a decrease in gas mileage since I bought the car. I was first getting about 575miles to a tank, now I only get 400 if I drive easy. Anyone have any suggestions?

I know that the 2010 Hybrid, S, SE and SEL all come with or are available with a 2.5L 152 Cu. In. Inline 4. Is the engine in the Hybrid exactly the same as the one in the other 3 sub-models? Would I be able to use the same parts on my Hybrid that are available for the other types? Thanks!
