If the braking is augmented by the regenerative system, shouldn't the pads and rotors last a really long time? We have had brake squeak problems that have resulted in new rotors and pads at 20,000 miles. This was unanticipated as we have a history of very light driving and braking. Anyone else wit brake squeak problems?

Yes, our 2011 MKZ Hybrid has squeaky brakes, too. We took it to the dealer just before the warranty ran out and they said they couldn't repeat the noise. We went back a few moths later and they "de-glazed" the rotors and charged us $162. 4 weeks later we returned and they replaced the rotors and pads and wanted to charge us for the pads $75 when I blew a gasket in my head and they said they would re-reimburse us for the $162 for which we are waiting for because they said they need to make it a check. Not happy about the whole deal. I'll feel better if we really do get the reimbursement.

We are taking our MKz back to Dealer to look at this issue. Lots of squeaks at very low speed.

It looks great!

One of my wife's favorite things is to show off the "Demo" on the surround sound really loud! It's great! With the quiet ride and the great sound system, songs that I thought I knew sound even better.

Where do I get one of these?

Checking that you are not driving in "L" is a possibility and please don't take it as an insult. I did it for about ten miles before I figured it out. Same symptoms

If you need quiet, then the MKz was quieter than the fusion, in my opinion.

We shopped both cars and bought the MKZ. They say they are based on the same car technology, but the feel was different. We could tell as soon as we drove both the same afternoon. We needed smooth and quiet and liked the MKz better. That and the AC Seats. That is why we bought the MKz.

1,000 miles. No problems, ave gas mileage 43 from delivery but we get 46 on the daily commute to work. So the average overall is creeping up. Wife loves the idea of hypermileing but the cars behind here don't seem to share her passion.

Started new topic. Some were asking our opinion of the MKz and if the extra 10k was worth it. Winter driving: can't help you as we are in FL but I can say that we love winter driving here in FL!! HID lights: in general, the lights are great and really light up the sides and ahead very well. We have the adaptive lights that swivel and they do actualy swivel but even without moving they light up the turn you are making anyway. Thumbs up for the lights. Comfort & Quiet: this is subjective but we drove the fusion and the MKz and found the MKz smoother and quieter. I What made the final difference; 1) We are in Fl and it was the air conditioned seats 2) the nice interior, lights, lighted Lincoln in the stepwell... It was also the nice wood you get with the Executive package and interior finish that made the difference. I don't recommend the wood the dealer sticks on. It is a sticker and doesn't match like it does from the factory with the Executive package.

Not sure what the above refence is about? but "No" I have not had this happen on my MKZ

Adaptive HID Headlamps working?
MKZ 2011 replied to MKZ 2011's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
Yes, verified that they are not doing the dance on start-up and then after driving we could not get it to work, either. -
New here, wasn't sure if there is a way to see all new posts, or if people just check a single area. I believe this is reffered to as the "shotgun" approach when someone (me) is impatient.

The manual says these are supposed to swivel when the lights are turned on, but ours don't and they don't track when turning. Is there a way to activate orvturn them on? We have them, it's on the window sticker. Just not working

We got it loaded with everything we could. Executive Package, Technology, and Ultimate Package, so it includes the Moonroof, Nav, .... listed out at $41,000 ish What a great car, really fun to drive trying to get the best mpgs...

Only had it 3 days--haven't driven in the dark yet! Do you like them?

After reading everyone's post, I am taking the 5th on our 2011 MKZ (41 ish)

Very pleased with our new car, just wanted to learn about the hybrid and see what others are saying about it. Figured the MKZ and Fuson are so similar, we would fit right in?
-
so who's been driving like a grandma, ever since getting this car?
