Hi guys . I've noticed now the cold weather is here that my brakes are speaking at low speed when I brake. Seems to have started with the cold weather. Gets better after I drive for a while. They feel fine otherwise. Anyone else having problems ... Car has 14,000 kms.

Ok ... Just tried to adjust the speed settings, but it doesn't retain the new settings. There's nothing in the manual on how to save these settings. WHen you change them and go back to the home screen, then return to check the settings, they've gone back to the previous defaults. There must be a simple explanation. Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks ... That makes sense. I wonder what the optimal settings are. Have you set yours different than the factory presets. The highway speeds must be set high and secondary road too low. I tried googling to look for some optimal settings and couldn't find anything.

I have a 2010 FUSION HEV with factory Nav. I've noticed a few quirks with trip routing directions that the unit provides. Has anyone else had similar experience. I'm used to Garmin and Mapquest routings and noticed on a couple of occasions very different routing provided the factory NAV unit. Seems to be very biased to travelling on interstate highways to the point where it doesn't recommend any shortcuts off the interstate using secondary highways. Routings from the Navteq website are also different than what are provided on the unit in the car. Seems strange. Recent experience on a trip from Toronto to Annapolis was a routing to Erie PA and down I-79 to I-80 and east to Annapolis. Garmin and Mapquest provide completely different routings. Anyone else had similar experience or can offer any explanation or suggestions.

Thanks Jack .. Do you have BLIS on your car and if you do did Ziebart take any precautions where they sprayed. Reading some of the problems some owners with Blis are having makes me a bit nervous about spraying rust proofing solvents into these areas. Any other HEV owner have any experience with Rust Proofing.

Anyone had after market rust proofing done on their HEV ... Thinking of having this done and wonder if their are any specific precautions for the HEV. I;ve used Rust Check in the past with good results. They do prefer to drill a few entrance holes in the doors and frame to spray into, and I wonder if there are any specific precautions needed for an HEV. I would assume the wiring harness for the HEV would run up the middle of the car and not along the outer frame.

MIne came off the line on February 5th .. Will be interesting to see if it's included in the recall. So far there's nothing showing on a web search for recalls.

I've observed exactly the same. The NAV read out lags the dash display on fuel economy. Suspect it's a rounding issue. On th eNAV 30L/100kms readout issue, the owner manual says this is normal. Sure isn't intuitive that with the engine off in EV the dash display shows 0 and the NAV 30L+.

Here's a few more to add: 1. Folding rear-view mrrors. 2. Auto shut off on the 12vdc outlets to avoid depleting the battery if you leave something like an ipod connected. 3. relocate the HEV battery to allow the rear seats to be folded and a pass thru from the trunk. 4. Light in the glove compartment. 5. Make the sunglass holder larger. It's too small to accommodate glasses in a case.

I have a 2010 Fusion HEV that I've had for a month or so. I've noticed some quirks with the display. No resets like those discussed above, but when the fuel economy display is set to bar graphs instead of leaves, the graphs will all occasionally show the max at start up instead of retaining the history from the last drive. I wonder if this has anyting to do with turning the igition on while the display is loading. The display on the dash for average fuel economy is also occasionally out of sync with the avg fuel display on the Nav display. It's often out 1/10. My dash displays 6.1 L/100k and the Nav displays 6.2L/100k. It's almost like it may be a rounding issue for how mileage is being calculated. I wonder if the information is derived from the same source. My average on the dash will change by 1/10 and it take a while for the NAV to catch up. Eventually it does, but that can take a while ... days.

I had a closer look at the Nav manual and it looks like the instant fuel consumption inconsistency in metric is supposed to read that way. The manual says that if the units are set to metric, the instant fuel economy meter on the NAV will display 30+ L/100k when the car is stopped, and that it will read "0" L/100k on the dash display. It says the NAV meter will show the correct reading when the car is moving. Guess this is known bug that Ford isn't planning to fix. Not a big deal, but seems a bit silly to have 2 displays returning different results at any time whether it is set to metric or mpg. The other problem that continues is that the results in the NAV display for average fuel consumption lag the dash display; and this lag can be considerable. It's not a few seconds. I've had different readings for average fuel consumption last 30 mins or more. The difference is one tenth. ie. reading 6.3 L/100k on the dash meter and NAV meter reading 6.4 L/100k. I'll have to switch back to mpg and see if there is a lag there too.

I agree .... The intant mileage reported on the NAV is almost useless. My dash meter will show 0 when the car is stopped and running EV and the Nav meter will show 30+ at the same time. When I drive the car it will bounce back down but it seems erratic to me. I've also noticed the average displayed on the NAV will lag the dash display. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the home screen to show the 10 minute interval display in the bottom right half of the home display.

I've noticed a few quirks with my fuel economy displays over the last few days. Has anyone had same and is this normal? I've only had the car for a week and still getting used to it. I'm located in Canada so unit settings for display are set to metric. I've noticed the readings in the dash display are not always exactly syncronized with what's showing on the Nav display. Example: the dash display for average fuel consumption is currently showing an average of 6.4 L/100k while the Nav reading for average is showing 6.5 L/100k. I've also noticed when I start the car and ICE come on the instant fuel economy reading goes to the highest point for a few minutes and then settles down. The highest point suggests the car is using 30+ L/100k which can't be right even if the car is warming up. Outside temperature here is 50-60F and the car is garaged. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Question for anyone who is familiar with display settings on the HEV and diference between US and Canadian models. For display settings there are 2 choices under Units: English and Metric. Does anyone know if English on the Canadian model means fuel economy calculations are expressed in miles per Imperial Gallon. or US Gallon. Can't find any info in the owners manual on this.

Hi there and thanks for the input. I'll take that back to the dealer and have a discussion with the Service Manager. I just took delivery of the car and was discussing with the sales person adding a bi-directional remote; They described the problems they were having with these units and advised me that they would not install one. If no-one here is reporting similar problems it's a mystery to me what could be the problem. WHen the car goes in for it's first service I'll discuss with the Service Manager.
