I've also been looking into new tire for my 06 SEL V6 (225/50/17). I think I'm leaning to the Continental DWS tires. They have great reviews, up there with the Michelins and are an all season with great snow rating, plus are one of the cheaper tires at about $120 a piece on tirerack. I do like the Michelin options, but they would cost over $225 more for a set of 4 in a ultra high performance all seaon tire. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ExtremeContact+DWS

I would keep an eye out on ebay for a slightly used grill as olot of people or selling the oem ones when they get aftermarket ones. You could try wet sanding it out if its not to deep, starting with some 1000 grit and finishing with 3000 grit and a polish. But since the grill is just plastic with a thin chrome coat, not sure it that will work.

Good winter tires, and some rim questions

I had the Altimax HP all season tires on my last car, a Pontiac GTP with afew upgrades, maybe 280hp. And the Altimax tires worked great in all conditions. I live in the Northeast, so we had plenty of snow last winter, afew storms of several feet of snow and I had no issues getting around. Plan on getting them for my Fusion soon. -

Went by the ford dealer today, they had to order it, but it should be in Monday. I belive he said it was $11.89, little pricy for a bulb. I did read a thread on another forum stating that some VW and Audi's use the same bulb and he got it for alot less money thru one of there parts dept's. May look into that if it goes again. I guess that makes sense at the clock in made in Germany. Just found some info, not 100% sure its coreect, as its someones elses info: VW/Audi bulb part number 4A0919040C Flosser bulb 449103 OSRAM bulb 2473MFX6 -
Got the set of 4 Ford all weather rubber Fusion mats today, they fit nicely and have attachment point for the drivers mat. The front mats seam alittle narrow, but for $40 bucks shipped, new of Ebay, I think it was a good bye.

The Husky Liners do look like they cover everything. Not cheap, but nice.

Both WD40 and most tar removers contain solvent, they will have a smaller percentage of solvent, I believe WD40 is almost 50% solvent based. I agree try some clay first, just use a small piece from the clay bar, that way you wont ruin the whole bar.

Is there a aftermarket dead pedal available for the Fusion like what you see for mustangs.

Won some ford (oem) all weather rubber mats with the fusion name on ebay. The guy selling them said they fit 2007-2010 and they came out of a new 2010 fusion. Hopefully the fit is not to much different from the 2006-2009 model and the 2010. I got a great deal on them, so worst case I will just resell them.

Try some minerial spirts (solvent) for any type of glue or adhesive. A razor blade will work well on th window, just make sure its new. In worst case scenarios, lacquar thinner can be the answer, but there are risks, usally I will pour it onto a damp towel to slightly lesson its strength. You would be surpurised how many detail shops use it to remove glue, tar, tree sap, etc.

Just got a 06 Fusion v6 and need to get some mats. Are the mats the same for 06-10? And has anyone bought other non-oem mats and bben happy with fit, etc. Thanks.

Might have been an area the factory wet sanded and buffed out an imperfectionin in the finish. The area may need to be rebuffed with a light compound and waxed. But is hard to really tell from the picture if thats the case.

Usally that is caused by sprinkler systems. When I use to detail cars for a living, I found using buffing compound and a little elbow grease worked well. I believe I used Meguiers #3 compound.
