Sweet! A couple cool little additions there, very nice.

Anybody know if there's ever going to be a manual fusion hybrid? Kinda sucks it's auto only.

Ford Announces 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid
probowler replied to autoxr1's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
How much more expensive are the Lincolns? I've been considering getting a fusion hybrid but I'm not gonna lie a Lincoln would be fucking amazing. Maybe only $40,000 compared to $30,000? :banghead: -
Some car washes don't like roof racks either... so if you like to drive through the hitch is also a good way to go.
-
You could possibly get a hitch for the hybrid and attach one of those hitch mounted bike racks. No towing though

Engine block heaters are nice..... at least for us up here in alaska!
-
Hmmm.... Here's hoping this has the effect of bumping future fusions gas millage too.

Ford RAV (Re Aquired Vehicle) Program
probowler replied to oldschool1962's topic in General Discussion
I would post this question on bigger, more "over-all" ford forums. One place you could try is Fullsizebronco.com Yes, it's for broncos, but everybody there is a ford nut and plenty of em have owned many a ford. Try asking in one of the non-bronco, general boards and you might get some response -
Damn... 10,000 mile oil changes, nice!

Yeah, I wanna know if they finally found out what's wrong with this thing or have just decided to give him a new one.

  Anyways that's good to hear. Looking forward to hear what the problem is when it's safe for you to do so!
-
Is it even one of the effected models? I'm betting some of those "runaway hybrids" were scammers trying to make a dime. They just had a story on one person doing this today.
-
What do you mean last post, you're not gonna let us know what happens and if the dealer fixes the problem?

How far can the Fusion run on its battery?
probowler replied to probowler's topic in General Discussion
I'm not stupid, I know it's not an electric car... The Volt can do that. I guess the whole "Fusion Hybrid can go up to 47 miles per hour in Electric Vehicle (EV) mode" is just some shady advertising by ford. To me that sounds like I could drive around flat little eagle river on just battery and save some serious fuel. Anyone else think that's kinda bad advertising? It's Good to know though. I gotta say thanks for all the great info! I Especially the cold weather bits.. I live in Alaska, so it gets pretty col! . My camaro is hiding in the garage next to an old VW bus. So it would be sitting outside in the driveway all night in the cold. Hopefully I'd like to get the bus in storage to make room for another car, maybe the fusion if i got one, but it's still gonna be cold weather driving. :car: Speaking of my Camaro... ^^^this is fucked up! (Can see the old bus too) -
So I'm REALLY really interested in buying a fusion hybrid, I think it's a pretty cool car for what it is, and the gas millage is great! I was wondering though, how far can this thing actually go on just the battery alone? Lets say 45mph, good city traffic speed. I've read that the battery can only go a few blocks without the engine, is this true? That's kind of a letdown, it would be so nice if I get through town to my destination all on the battery. So I have two questions: 1. How far can the fusion hybrid travel on it's battery at city traffic 2. What's the best millage you've gotten out of it? Example, going 55mph on the highway My Bronco is my daily driver, so I really do drive 55 on the highway for fear of my wallet withering away. So doing the "Slow ride" thing is fine by me :) Thanks for any input!

So has it blown up yet?
-
There is no speed limit anywhere in the country set at "47". If the limit is 45, anybody going 47 is speeding, unless you happen to be on some major road where the limit is 50 or 55. Solution - drive 45 or 50 ---not 47.
-
So what, how do you keep the hood up? With one of those little hooks you pull up?
-
immmpresive..

I'm looking forward to see what the 2011 has to offer. I'm on the fence about getting a fusion hybrid. If I could get a great deal for a year-end 2010 that would be great! But then again I'd love to be able to order one from the factory and get exactly what I want. Hopefully the 2011 isn't TOO different that maybe I could wait till next year for one.

Wow, it sounds like at one point you have some CRAZY issues, like the car dying?? Hate to say it but it sorta sucks those issues won't reoccur so you can record them and get this ordeal over with.

Yeah, why the hell would they have accessory mode if you're not supposed to use it!?
