I have noticed less and less electric-only propulsion available in my 2010 FFH in the last few years; I assumed it was because the HVB was losing it's storage capability and not being able to provide as much juice to run electric only. Also my overall gas mileage has been decreasing over the years; I no longer see 40+mpg like I used to when the car was relatively new. Not going to replace the HVB in a near 10 year old car.

I've noticed this problem in my 2010 FFH since the day I bought it; the only time it is something other than just annoying is when I'm trying to merge into heavy freeway traffic, I floor the accelerator and nothing happens for a few seconds. I've learned to adjust for it, but it's one of the few things about my hybrid that I hate. Trading it in for a 2020 Subaru Legacy in September; would have gone with another Fusion, but Ford put me off with the 'dial' transmission selector. Sorry, Ford.

I would disaggree about filling up the tank as much as you can; it states clearly in the manual NOT to do that. Filling too much can cause gas to leak thru the breather tube, making a mess and hazard. You should fill until the auto pump stops flow, no more. If you want to know how big the tank is, look at the owners manual.

I have a 2010 FFH with just over 22K miles; same thing just happend to me, except there was a noise coming from the backseat area that sounded like a huge angry wasp...very loud buzzing, with varied with my speed. HVB charge also went all the way to the top, was charging even at 70 mph on the expressway, which it never had done before. No warning lights on the dash. Called my dealer to bring it in, but the next day and ever since it's been running perfectly normal; charge OK, EV OK, no problems at all. I would assume it was a reconditioning, except for the buzzing; the manual describes it as a 'clicking' sound of relays; this was more than that. l am glad I am not alone experiencing this.

Your link doesn't work............

Very interesting question. I am torn between the technological advances, styling of the FFH and the 'nit-picky' things that bother me about it: rear seats don't fold down, can't tow anything, delay in the throttle action, etc. I had looked at the Camry SE (non-hybrid) before I bought the FFH, but then the 'throttle/brake' issues of the Camry popped up and swayed me to go with the FFH. I'm not sure I made the right decision, as I am retired now and don't put on the mileage like I used to, so it's going to take me that much longer to make up the hybrid price difference.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I bought it from a local chain here in Connecticut, Town Fair Tire; I did call around to other Michelin dealers, all quoted me the same price, more or less. I've dealt with Town Fair for a while now, so I went to them. That was the out-the-door price, including mounting, balancing, tax, etc. I don't belong to Costco as the nearest one is 3/4 hour drive away and I was anxious to get this resolved in a hurry anyway, as I'm doing a lot of Christmas driving next week. Hopefully the next time I have to go thru this will be for high-mileage replacement and I will be able to take my time shopping around with better options.

Anyone have the Michelin Energy MXV4's? I ran over a piece of metal yesterday, slitting my rear tire beyond repair. Replacement cost: $275 !!!! I've never paid that much for a car tire before; have come close with tires for my Yamaha, but this? Wow!

Thanks for all the comments....I still feel that the 'delay' is too long and can be dangerous. Maybe since I've always had manual transmissions I am used to more immediate response when hitting the gas. It's when you need the power immediately (such as merging onto the expressway) that it can be scary.

Has anyone noticed that there is a slight delay in response when 'flooring' the throttle, as in from a standing start or trying to merge onto an expressway. I love my Hybrid, but this is sometimes disconcerting.

OK, again, what exactly is 'reconditioning'?????

If you look in the Hybrid folder that came with the owners manual, it says in there that a 'whistling' noise is normal. Mine's had it since day 1. What, me worry?

I have a small 5'x9' trailer that I carry various items in (kayak, bags of dirt, junk, etc.); after I traded in my Accord for the FFH, I put a hitch on my Civic, which does fine pulling the trailer. Just think I should be able to pull it with the FFH without worries about my warranty. It was my bad anyway, as I never thought of asking the salesman about towing capacity before I purchased.

Be aware that the Ford does NOT recommend towing a trailer with the FFH (see your owners manual). See also my post about this previously. My dealer said it was because of the CVT, not lack of power. I needed to tow a small trailer also, but I'll wait until my warranty is up, as they said towing could void the warranty if any tranny issues arise.
