Sirius - how much are you paying?
hondaconvert replied to royroddey's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Yes, in it's quarterly report, every company puts a positive spin on everything it does . Usually, when you do the math, most of the "good" news is just that - spin, juggling the numbers. Blah, blah, blah. You really have to talk to consumers. -
Try mountguys.com. They have a trememdous assortment of mounts (many of them brand-specific), not just for GPS.
-
I got ine from cd3fusion.com.
-
Absolutely go with fusionff's suggestion - the cd3fusion stubby antenna. The sharkfin is huge (7"L x 3.5"W x 2.5"H) . To me it looks like the top of a taxicab.

SOME garage door openers can clip onto the clip. Unfortunately, mine cannot. :-(

Yes, the dimmer is all you have to play with. I personally love the blue. And I would think if you took a ride in any Volkswagon with the hideous angry red alternative, you'd come around to the blue too. In Feng Shui, blue is peaceful, soothing, and linked with contemplation, patience, and stability - all really good anti-road rage things for the driver. Cut the blue some slack. I'm just sayin'.

I have a 2010 SEL. I'd like to remove the blue oval on the trunk lid and maybe replace it with something custom. It seems to be glued in place like the other badges. My question is what's left underneath after it's removed? Is it a flat space? A hole? An indentation?

I used a little Goof Off and some fishing line. Just wash and wax afterwards.
-
Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a while. There is absolutely no differrence in reception for AM, FM, or Sirius.
-
Yes, definitely don't inhale the stuff if you can avoid it. If you have to run the AC, run it a while w/windows open before you get into the car. That stuff is toxic.

If there were no market for ethanol, and the government subsidies form the 1930's were discontinued, feed corn (and hence, meat) would be cheaper. Then the farmers might be encouraged to go back to producing corn for human consumption. It's all about profit in the end, but that profit can be realized in so many more benficial ways for the planet. Bottom line though: My Fusion still purrs on regular 87 octane gas.
-
I agree with scottss80 and xmech2k. E85 does nothing for the environment. Corn is meant to be eaten, not burned. When you figure the 25% mpg reduction, you'd have to pay 25% per gallon less at the pump just to break even. My Fusion purrs on 87 octane, and I'm sticking with it. If you want to help the environment, ride a bicycle locally and shop locally.

I have the CD3Fusion short antenna, but I like this one too. When you get it, let us know how well it works (and fits) and what's involved in the install. Looks as if it might be huge if it has to fit over the existing unit.
-
Just the mast. Unscrew the whip; screw in the shortie.
-
Have you seen the short replacement antenna available from CD3 Fusion? It looks much better than the silly looking whip, reception is exaclty the same, and you won't have to worry about the car wash if you want to go that route. Check it out: cd3fusion.com.

Merci beaucoup. I needed this list yesterday!

Why did you choose the Fusion ...
hondaconvert replied to Waiting's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
In order of importance, I chose the fusion for: All-Wheel Drive, quality (six months of research before I bought last September), value for my dollar, styling, and technology. I'm a little disappointed with Sync, but everything else is great so far. -
Thoroughly examined my hood ('10 SEL manufactured 8/09) and subsequently the entire vehicle - No dents anywhere.

Stainless Steel or Chrome Exhaust Tips
hondaconvert replied to hondaconvert's topic in Body Exterior
Thanks to you both. I'll check the original tips on the weekend. Any suggestions in terms of brand names? -
Hi Everyone, I'm looking to change the original round exhaust tips on my 2010 SEL V6 to oval or rectangular or trapezoidal-shaped tips. What are the qualities and/or brands to look for? How much should I pay for them? Is it something I can do myself, or should I have a shop do it? Any advice and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this.

Ditto on the sound quality. Sond is much better on any FM station I tune to. So long Sirius. -
Sirius - how much are you paying?

I'm on Long Island NY. My letter asked $149.31 for the year. That's way too much for the 5 or 6 stations I occasionally listen to. My siblings have XM (one for about five years, one for two years) both of them pay less thn $100 for the year. I do not intend to renew. CDs and my Ipod are just fine. -
Someone on another forum suggested installing a simple barrel lock on the console. Sounds good - cheap, simple, neat. It just avoids the quick rifling through the box that can happen with a valet.
-
As you must have noticed, there is no locking storage anywhere inside the Fusion. And with the trunk release button, the trunk is not really secure either. If I give the car to a valet to park, he can rifle through every compartment in the car. Does anyone know of an aftermarket lock that can be installed on the glove box or the center console? And is there a way to temporarily disable the trunk release button? I don't want to have to remove everything of value from the car everytime I use valet parking.
