  1. thanks Jon Yes I'm talking flat towing and the system is connected to the brake padel. I've read that the Escape/Mariner hybrids are being flat towed and they done have Active brakes. The owners manual states that the car can be towed flat.
  2. Thanks for the reply Jon seems like you may be the person to answer my question, I will explain abit more. Were planning on towing the Hybrid (Milan) with our motorhome when we travel and I need a supplimental braking on the towed vehicle. The system I'm using works with power brakes (Deactivated, no vaccum). This system will work without power brakes (or what they call dead brakes,I think) but I will need to get a pressure reducer, to reduce the air pressure that activates the brake pedal, otherwise to much pressure is applied to the brake pedal. Not sure what really will happen but maybe brake lockup. Thats pretty much why I need to know what kind of system the Ford Hybrids have or how they work. Thank for the Replies LarryG
  3. Hi All, Can anyone tell me if the Fusion/Milan Hybrid brake system is an active braking system? (Are the brakes "power" with the key in the first ignition postion?) Thanks
  4. Thanks for the replies. Blue Ox makes a base plate for the 2010 Fusion/Malin and I think from the radiator support forward they are all the same but I will check into it further. My MH is on a Ford F53 chassis (front engine) with the exhaust in front of the rear wheels so I don't think I'll have a problem with exhaust entering the cabin but I can see it happening with a pusher Diesel MH
  5. Thanks Dave thats pretty much what I was looking for. Monday we'll go to the daeler and see what we can find, we have a few weeks before the MKZ goes back.
  6. Hi all My wife is looking at replacing her leased (running out) 2007 Lincoln MKZ AWD with a hybrid Fusion or Milan. She was going to buy the lease out but after finding out that we cannot tow the MKZ four wheels down, behind our motorhome, we pretty much decided on the Ford Hybrid. The question I have is, what does it say in the 2010 Hybrid owners manual on Receational Towing? I've checked the Ford web site and they say the Hybrid can be towed with the wheels down but I would like to know it says that in the manual. Thanks LarryG
