  1. I tried it again last night and it seems to be back to normal so I think you are right about the reconditioning. Although in the past when it went through the reconditioning cycle, I recall that it made a lot of clicking noises from behind the back seat. I didn't hear that this time but I'm not the only one who drives the car.
  2. Late reply but for future reference I paid $320 to have the front bearing replaced, $80 for the bearing (hub was good), $240 labor. This was a local independent shop that I trust (he's my neighbor).
  3. I don't believe so. I've gone through 3 drive cycles and the HVB is at full charge. Might try the battery age reset again.
  4. Just a quick update, I reset the battery age back to 0 years about 15 months ago. Things seemed OK for a while and any reduced MPG I noticed I attributed to letting my teenager drive the car on a regular basis. The past several months my fuel economy has been down around 33MPG. No problem going into EV mode and staying there up to 47 MPH with a light foot. Now today the car will not go into EV mode at all! Not at idle, not in Park, not in Neutral, nothing. The ICE is on 100% of the time and seems to idle pretty high, around 100RPM. I'm at a loss for what to look at and have zero confidence in my local Ford service department.
  5. Good point Paul. I performed the HVB age reset to 0 year a few weeks ago and I am back to 41.1 mpg. Able to stay in EV mode now for a considerably longer time/distance.
  6. I would encourage everyone here to complete this form: https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/? Your Vehicle's Make Model and Model Year: FORD FUSION HYBRID 2010Note: Your VIN, make, model, and year are all protected under the Privacy Act.What part of your car was affected? Engine, Fuel/Propulsion System, Power TrainWhat happened? The vehicle will no longer operate in electric mode. This is a major safety concern since there is no assist from the high-voltage battery powered electric drive motor. Upon accelerating from a dead stop, there is a significant lag before the ICE kicks in and provides enough power to move the vehicle. When did this happen? 12/07/2018Was there a Crash? NoWas there a Fire? NoWas there an injury or fatality? NoHow fast were you going? (in mph) 0About how many miles were on your vehicle at the time of the incident? 100000
  7. FYI, went over to another Ford Dealer Service Dept on my lunch break and spoke with the Service Advisor about this. I was told, "I've never heard of that before. Bring it in and we can diagnose it for $145". These guys are useless!
  8. I reached out to the Ford Dealer Service Advisor that helped Rodney and here's what he told me. "What we have done is to reset the vehicle to “1 Year” in the personality settings. This has to be done with the Ford scan tool. I hope this helps. If you need any more information let me know."
  9. That's great Rodney! Did they tell you what the technical procedure was called or provide any kind of service bulletin number?
  10. Good luck @Rodney, Looking forward to seeing how it works out for you.
  11. They told me that any additional diagnosis would be my responsibility. Ford is trying to wash their hands of this, hoping we all just go away. Anyone here on Twitter, I encourage you to tweet @FordService and complain, it will probably fall on deaf ears but you never know.
  12. Here's an interesting product. It's used to rebalance the HVB on hybrid vehicles. They don't specifically mention a unit for the Ford Fusion but there is some decent information on the need for this type of reconditioning. https://hybridautomotive.com/ BTW, I contacted Ford Customer Care the other day and was told to take my Fusion to another Ford dealer for a second opinion after being told it was a "normal characteristic of vehicle".
  13. @mmtphoto What is the feature of the Autel MD 808 that performs the High Voltage Battery rebalancing? I scanned the online user's manual and it appears the only battery features are related to the 12v battery.
  14. I've noticed a very minor MPG improvement since the weather is beginning to warm up. 38 MPG vs 37 MPG in cooler temps. Still not the same as the 41 MPG I was averaging before without even trying. If I worked at it (hypermiling) I could get 46 MPG.
