  1. I wouldnt go more then 60000miles on the fluid. These transmissions are small and run hotter then other transmissions. . They get dark pretty fast so changing them sooner at 30000 miles for peace of mind that they wont have any problems in the long run. Problems with old fluid was harsh shifting when they go pass 30000miles. After changing it they are suprised with how well it shifts afterwards. IVe used Mobil 1 full sythetic which is T-IV approved and ive used RP max ATF. Some people on this site used RP and are more then happy with the way it shifts. The fluid change is simple get a torx bit and let the fluid drain out. No need to drop the pan. Then refill i forgot how much fluid it took i think 4.5 idk but make sure you dont go over. hope this helps.
  2. Danford thanks for the reply the backspacing is 6.295. But im not sure if adding a back spacer will help cause it might start to rub on the fenders. The tire i believe is just a little too big for the fusion. Tell me if you do it and tell me the route you go. Im having this problem also. I want to run them so bad but dont want to risk rubbing issues. Do you think its ok to run the car even if it rubs just a little??
  3. Thanks Danford for the reply, I just recieved the ford mustang fan blade wheels which are 18x8.5 with the bfg Ta tires that are 235/50/18 they look great and they fit on the back but on the fronts the tires rub ever so gently on the control arms. Even with the car lowered from the jack i believe it still rubs. I guess thats why ford mustang and fast fords used the 225/45/18 on the 18x8.5 bullets wheels because they fit. Car with the fan blade wheels look great just like the 427 concept car for came out with. hope this helps.
  4. That piece your talking about is connected to the bigger piece that is connected on the door. I had mines replaced when my car got into an accident and i was able to pull out the whole piece. What happened was i believe that little clip broke of its hinges and fell somewhere. Once you remove that door trim piece you only have one chance to put it back on due to the tape that ford uses on the trim parts. The shop tried to reuse the old trim piece and it wouldnt stick onto the door and kept on coming off due to the tape and it being slightly bent. The dealer ship should have the part and it shouldnt cost too much to fix.
  5. 245 wow thats pretty wide im probably sticking with the 225 45 18 cause there is enough meat on the tires to help with the roads we have here. We have huge pot holes and cant risk a bent rim. I think ford thought of that with the 225 45 18 that they used on the fusion sport. Im sticking with it. The rims BTW are from a mustang GT 2007 idk whats the offset but ford racing is telling me 50mm.
  6. thanks for the reply the rim size is 18x8.5 do you think the 225/45/18 will fit on the 8.5 inch wheel??? im scared it might stretch it too much. Thanks alot!!
  7. is anyone experiencing problems with rubbing with these size tires. I am about to purchace my fan blade 2007 ford mustang GT wheels with factory BFG 235-50-18 and wondering if this rub on the factory control arms?
  8. you will need to get a special adaper that was meant for fords go to crutch field and they will explain which harness you will need. I had a problem with mines when i had my DVD player navigation installed. They used a universal adapter and it started to make the subs pop on startup. You will need the PAC harness from crutchfield its called PAC's C2R-FRD1 its about 129 bucks but its worth it. Hope this helps noise is now gone and it sounds awesome.
  9. bought a set off ebay 6mos later it melted my platic casing and was unable to get the bulbs off. Just stick with stock but if you have money to buy new lamp cases then do it looks nice though..
  10. ive heard the magnaflows were a little too loud for my taste...flowmaster delta flow 50 series is not bad but i dont think they last too long!!! Borla is a good balance of sound and quality not tooo loud. If you keep your stock resonators the sound will be very close to stock but with more power. its all about preferance...
  11. I was comparing an 2000 explorer with the michelin atx to my ford escape sorry to get you mixed up i was a bit off topic
  12. Yes these tires arent the best but they do offer decent performance but very good longevity. they are very expensive and i know there are better tires for the money. Continental tires are decent but i also owned a 2008 ford escape with the conti tracs and they were soooooo noisey!!!!! i was planning to change them with the michelin ATX which i used on our work truck explorer and its so much quieter. How is the transmission on your escape?? make sure you change the transmission fluid every 30000 miles cause they fail early due to the CD4E being such a small transmission esp when its equipped with the V6. Easy to change due to a drain plug and surly i miss my truck which i sold to my girl friend when i was living in NY.
  13. Yes i have rode in other cars for example friends lincoln town car and his ford taurus and yes the fusion is a bit more bumpy but has way better handling. For me i used a sound deadener called quiet coat to help lower the sound and noise in the older fusions. Not much of a difference but on choppy roads or concrete roads the sound is more muffled. BTW regarding the michilin tires they are decent but rated low on tire rack. Yes dont change them yet caz they do last quite long my brother had a set on his mazda that lasted 50000 miles. I recommend michelin, goodyear, or even general tires which are all the highest rated tires out there. Pirelli and continentals are good but they wear out too quickly. hope this helps.
