  1. How about a knife, or tool sheath? I've got an old Gerber Multi-Pocket Pocket Tool sheath made from strong, flexible nylon fabric, that the key fits into, perfectly. It's 2 1/2" W x 5"L x 1/2" thick. It can go inside your pocket, or clip onto a belt. 2. No, I live 8 miles away (not minutes) from where I work in Fountain City, but it's such a nice ride to get there. I haven't personally experimented with 100% gas, not even sure where there is any in the area, but do me a favor, and post your results. I mean, is there a noticeable improvement? Alvin Frye's Exxon, on Broadway, had it until a few months ago, they had a big sign out front that read 100% gas! :) Haven't been to Harbor Freight to buy anything, but yes, I know where it is. I drive by there at least once everyday. It's not on my own route, but I might have delivered mail there, once or twice.
  3. The UK, land of the round-abouts! Is it raining, yet :hysterical: AJ, where are you assigned, and with what unit? I was with the Civil Engineers at RAF Alconbury/Molesworth from '96 - '97. Lived in Great Stukeley, right down the road from one of John Majors vacation homes, the old PM. What an awesome tour of duty. Thanks for your service, fellow comrade! You should have qualified for a bit of a discount from Ford. Enjoy the ride along those magnificent country roads! And welcome home, in advance.
  4. What a landslide! How about a few tons of massive rock :devil2: raining down upon a new FFH? No, I wasn't traveling that far, so just missed it. Got off at Exit 440, headed to Cosby. The weather was spectacular, as was the hike. Yes, Powell is the sleepy little town :boring: just north of Knoxville. Close enough for convenience, while just far enough to escape it all. It's a quick 8-mile ride to work, and in the mornings, I get 45 - 51mpg's. On the return trip after work, it slips to 35 - 45mpg's, depending upon how the day transpired :hysterical: The AJ HWY (Andrew Johnson) is the 11E road that travels to Morristown, via New Market and Jefferson City. It's not an interstate, but a nice secondary road, slightly north and parallel to I-40/I-81.
  5. Ever since my reconditioning occured, the degree of battery recharging has definitely increased. Before, it always seemed to charge-up and stay at 1/2 state of charge, seldom only reaching 3/4. Now, according to the green graph, the battery charges all of the way to the top, and it seems to do so with a mind all of it's own, without any help from the driver.
  6. Hi VonoreTN, How's things, neighbor? I'm in nearby Powell! Going to the Smoky Mtns next Sunday, to see the colors. I often go to Morristown TN, via AJ Hwy. If I'm careful, then I can amass 51 mpg, on the 94-mile roundtrip. It does require patience, though, but it's 4-lane and there's plenty of room for speedier drivers to safely go around. It's a nice ride. Happy motoring!!
  7. Got mine done all of the way past (underneath) the gaskets. Go to tintdude.com forum section. There's TONS of info about that issue in there, plus any and all you need or want to know about tinting. Here's the direct link to the Fusion part: http://www.tintdude.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21464 Good luck.
  8. Soon as splashguards are finally available, I'll slap 'em on and find out. Could be wrong, but my guess is that it won't make enough of an impact to matter. I'm currently at 43.2 mpg, so could spare a mpg. If it's too severe of an impact, can always just remove them.
  9. Here's what's happened three times this past week, differing from the previous norm: Starts in EV mode, roll down the hill, briefly tap the accelerator to merge into traffic, which starts the engine, and go the short distance (40 yards) to the red light. While stopped at the red light, the engine's been continuing to run, though, for up to several minutes, even though the battery was already half-charged. That's what differs from the past norm where the engine would always shut down at that red light. Not sure if that qualifies as 'reconditioning", though? Maybe it's just got something to do with cooler temperatures?
  10. the little blue pill is supposed to work..........for droopiness :hysterical2: sorry, couldn't resist
  11. Just some harmless curiosity for two-car owners: do you keep an eye on the weather, before deciding which one to climb into? If there's definitely inclement weather in store, do you choose an alternate mode of transportation, instead of taking a shiny newer one outside? Love the FFH, but I'm driving the truck to work today, because it's going to be nasty out
  12. Oh, bull :censored: . Never once, in all my life, through all of my travels around the world, did I ever feel inclined to mess with someone's ride, home, or any other personal property, simply because it contained a flag or banner that announced a personal affection or affiliation, with whatever! By the way, you crossed the line and that was completely uncalled for. Nice that you feel confident, safe, and secure enough to disrespect my nephew from afar. You wanna get personal and insult one of my family members again, next time, why not do so in a PM, and NOT publicly.
  13. No doubt about it, a lot of misconduct is personal in nature, no argument there. Irregardless, in the end, it's really irrelevant. It's unlawful and undeserved. It doesn't matter what "anyone did", nor the frequency in which it occurs. I don't blame anyone for taking a precautionary measure to try and avoid such of a destructive act, be it provoked or unprovoked.
  14. Haven't they been gaining in both market share and customers?
  15. it does often happen in the form of vandalism
  16. Some people simply do stupid things, without being provoked. Reasoning? My mind doesn't work that way, but I've been around long enough, seen, and know that these things often occur due to: for kicks; to try and "impress" others; college initiations; dissatisfaction with a particular car maker and subsequent "payback/revenge"; the thrill of a challenge for vandalism; pranks; jealousy; rebellion against an environmental/political issue such as manufactured outsourcing, etc. All completely illogical reasons, indeed. Some are just plain stupid, ignorant, irresponsible, disrespectful, unintelligent, destructive, etc.
  17. Good morning, everyone! Washed/waxed my FFH last night, and have wondered for 2-months now, why there's no gasket/molding/weather stripping (whatever it's called) in the seam of the front windshield at the top, and also on the rear window at the top and both sides? Were they eliminated in order to save money? :hysterical: Seriously, don't know about you, but it looks kinda odd, almost incomplete, to me. Crap get in there easily, but it's no big deal to clean it out. Just wondering. Thanks!
  18. Gee, maybe now, I should be sorry that I bought my FFH.............................because someone else said it felt uncomfortable. :hysterical: Apparently, I wasted all of that time, conducting research, and taking the test-drives.
  19. I don't work for Ford. Can you please provide the requirements which you feel entitle someone to be considered as a "groupie"......not sure whether I qualify or not :hysterical2: As far as "not knowing any better" and "honestly sharing feedback"goes, well I do know this: my FFH rides better than my '97 Accord did, otherwise, I'd have retained it, instead of getting a FFH. But it doesn't matter how I or anyone else feels because everyone has their own opinions, so they're subjective; ya gotta get behind the wheel to see for yourself. Rest assured, it's not my intent to try to convince or pursuade anyone into a FFH. This is just an interesting forum, where enthiusiasts gather and share info and driving experiences, nothing more, nothing less. Only you can know for sure whether a ride suits your needs. Make no mistake; it's a big-ticket item, so have you considered simply renting one for your next trip and find out for yourself?
  20. Before I start getting confused, I mean, digging at the IRS website :hysterical: , does anyone know where the tax credit goes, on the 1040? Looking at the 1040, I'll assume that my $1700 credit will go onto either line #53 "Credits from Form" or onto line #54, "Other credits from Form"? Then I guess that after subtracting that figure from the figure on line #46, it will clearly establish that the credit is included in the tax preparation. Thanks.
  21. Stars must have been perfectly aligned last night. Made it one and one-half months before my long-term odometer magically reset itself. Woke up this morning, and the 41.5 overall MPG's were all gone, replaced by a big-fat zero. That's too bad, I really liked the convenience of the accumulated MPG's.
  22. Although this is nothing new, confusion still abounds, even with tax "professionals" (term used lightly :hysterical:). Pops works at H&R. In June, we went around & around on this. I had originally thought that during the tax-prep process, the $1700 credit would be used in it's ENTIRETY, thus, reducing my taxes paid, by $1700. He disputed that, and finally checked with the main office. In summary, they said that the $1700 hybrid tax credit I've recently qualified for, will have "absolutely no impact on my taxes, UNLESS, during the tax-preparation process, it's determined that I would have an additional tax burden upon the conclusion of my taxes. Then, and ONLY then, will that $1700 credit, have any impact whatsoever, in reducing my tax burden by up to the maximum credit of $1700". They used last years taxes as an example, where I ended up sending Uncle Sam an additional payment of $300 after my taxes were prepared/accomplished. In that example, they said that at the very best case, during the tax-prep process, the $1700 credit would have been beneficial in that only a PORTION of the $1700 would have been able to be utilized, and that it would have wiped out the additional tax burden to zero. PERIOD. Nothing more, nothing less.
  23. Oh man, that "slightly" illegal film, simply looks awesome. How fussy are the cops around Orlando? You're gonna find out. :redcard: My brother paid the fine a couple of times in Ft. Lauderdale, but kept it on anyways. I like that "take a walk on the wild side" approach to life, though! Still, you're braver than me. It would always be in the back of my mind, and I'd be busted within a month. Good luck.
