  1. My normal commute is 30 miles and it's been a fairly mild winter. I'm still averaging around 29 MPG. I always use cruise control set around 70 MPH. There's usually a lot of traffic, forcing me to drive conservatively too. In the last week it hasn't gone below freezing and I'm up averaging 30.2 MPG on the last 375 miles. It's still good, but not as great as I had hoped when I bought the car.
  2. Where are you located? No matter how I drive, I can't seem to get the average MPGs above 30. It's been in the 30s-40s in the past couple weeks and I'm averaging just under 30MPG.
  3. [Note: I have two fork mount Thule bike racks with a Thule fairlead. This decreases my MPG by about 2. ] I live in MA and with the bike rack was getting about 36MPG in the warmer weather. Since it has been cold out, I'm averaging about 29-30MPG. My long term mileage is 32MPG. I wish it was a lot more, but it's better than the non-hybrid, and I love this car for it's comfort, features, etc.
  4. My local dealer had never heard of it either.
  5. Good point. If it happens again I will be trying to get the lemon law or "return" going.
  6. The dealer did the TSB where they replaced the electronic brake module. So far all seems ok and it drives fine.
  7. They called yesterday and said they replaced the electronic brake module and did a reset. I pick it up next week and will report any more info. Thanks for the info.
  8. Did they fix it twice, or just the 2nd time? Yes, if you could get me the number, that would be great. Thanks!
  9. Thanks Jon. That's exactly how it felt...a long travel of the pedal to get to the hydraulic assist part which felt unassisted. I'm away later this week, so the dealer has my car for the week. I'll let you know what they find out.
  10. I love my Ford Fusion and have had zero problems until this past weekend. I was driving into New York City and as soon as I turned off the parkway into Manhattan, the brakes failed! The car was on, drove and steered fine, but there were no power brakes. It was as if a manual transmission car had stalled, but even worse. An error light came on the left panel saying "Check Brake System" and the parking brake light was on. I was able to quickly pull over. I put it in park, turned the car off, and then immediately started it up. All was fine with no lights or bells. On the way home the next day, the brakes failed just before I got on the highway and after I got off the highway 2 hours away. Fortunately I was able to drive it to the Ford dealer today for servicing. They've, of course, never heard of this problem and can't believe it happened. It sounds to me like a computer / electronic problem. Anyone hear of this issue?
  11. I added Thule bars and rack to my Fusion. The Aero bars and the silver colored fork mount look best. I have since also added the fairlead which has eliminated all the whisling excess noise. I drove 5 hours home this weekend with 1 bike on the roof and averaged just under 37 MPG. Not bad.
  12. It's the Rain-X. My wipers were working perfectly until I put Rain-X on. It's worn off a bit now, so it's stopped bouncing. Thus I will only use Rain-X on the rear window only.
  13. My steerting is a bit off and will pull to the left sometimes when I am braking or when the road surface is uneven. It doesn't do it every time, but it's enough that you need to be firmly holding onto the wheel when it happens. It could be a brake issue, steering issue, or alignment issue. I have an appointment next week to have it checked out.
