  1. such a little thing, does the brake booster pump continue to run after the car is shut down, can you tell ?
  2. Some what off topic but isn't there a fan to help cool the high voltage battery, if so does this cooling fan continue to run even after the car is off ? (again if so the 12v battery must get a real workout)
  3. Wonder if Fusion hybrid, C-max & Energis use the same 12v (2013 MY)
  4. Wow that Ice Storm looks nice, got me wondering about Sunset now ...
  5. HBV fan(s) cooling off the battery pack after the car is shut down but with the temps we have around here the 12v battery would really get a work out (not an issue with my 2010, the fan is done the moment you shut off the car) Would like a new car but this is a biggie for me
  6. probably is the HBV fan(s) cooling off the battery pack after the car is shut down but with the temps we have around here the 12v battery would really get a work out (not an issue with my 2010, the fan & fuel pump is done the moment you shut off the car) Would like a new car but this is a biggie for me
  7. I wasn't making a statement (thats why I ended my sentence with a question mark) Still trying to wrap my head around openXC / Can bus thing - sounds like a good idea to me.
  8. I got the Atkinson technology bit from forddotcom a few nights ago, the 1000 rpm start story was told to me several years ago, have found no reason to doubt it.
  9. Bet first responders aren't real keen on hybrid debadging http://www.king5.com/news/cities/seattle/Seattle-Fire-Department-tackles-firefighting-of-hybrid-cars-190680901.html
  10. So I guess Ford is an example of a OEM who does not wish to make the CAN signals public ?
  11. sure hope not (whats too fast & steep) ?
  12. So it may be best to use the AC when in doubt (helps to cool the high voltage battery) ?
  13. Propel the car while generating energy lol (no physics is my guess) but then he goes on to talk about the (12v) battery & its ability to start the car (wonder if he knows the Camry & Fusion hybrid have no starter motor), if you can't dazzle them with brilliance baffle with BS ...
  14. Just got a tweet from @FordService @FordService @rfruth The car (2013 FFH, brake vacuum pump) only has power to it when the vehicle is running. The power is controlled by the ABS module using a relay. =) ^MS 03:02 PM - 01 Aug 13 hope this is true, anyone want to chime in ?
  15. Have heard the (traction battery) fan on my 2010 but as soon as the key is turned off the fan stops (the fan is quiet but you can hear it if in EV mode and radio is off) anyway if the fan on the 2013s can run if need be couldn't this potently run down the 12v battery ?
  16. I like the idea (glass version) but afraid it might rub some the wrong way
  17. In the 2013 is the brake vacuum pump hot (voltage wise) all the time ? (it's not in my 2010)
  18. My 2010 gets above EPA numbers, wonder if the 2014s with 18 s will do the same or better ?
  19. All gas (in the US) has to meet certain detergent levels etc. Some will say Techron rules & if you feel that way go to your local local parts house or Target & get some cause there isn't enough in Chevron gas to make any difference
  20. Try & keep your foot out of if and your be rewarded with less noise and more MPG (hard to do when passing)
  21. Makes me want white not sunset, nice !
  22. Wonder if Ford will brag about this software upgrade or try to keep it lokey ?
