2010 Fusion headlights
WAFFH replied to jim_joh's topic in Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror
The fog lamp icon is on the lower left side of the round light switch. The fog lamp indicator is on the upper left side of the round light switch (not in the center of the pull out). It can't be seen when fog lamps are off and barely can be seen (better at night) when fog lamps are on. Hope that I am not confusing you. -

On my FFH, the Fog Light Indicator (upper left of the round headlamp switch) can't be seen when the fog lights are off, but does light up when the fog lights are on, but not very well. Can only see it in the dark and still not very well. Only wish that it were brighter. My FFH was built in April '09. -

1) That is the fog lamp icon. The fog lamp indicator is on the upper left of the round switch dial. Pages 56-57 of 2010 Fusion Owners' Guide (1st printing): The fog lamp indicator light will illuminate when the fog lamps have been turned on. The fog lamps will not operate when the high beams are active. 2) Page 102: Battery saver The battery saver will shut off the interior lamps 30 minutes after the ignition has been turned to the 1 (off) position. • If the dome lamps were turned on using the panel dimmer control, the battery saver will shut them off 30 minutes after the ignition has been turned to the 1 (off) position. • If the courtesy lamps were turned on because one of the vehicle doors or the trunk was opened, the battery saver will shut off them off 10 minutes after the ignition has been turned to the 1 (off) position. • The battery saver will shut off the headlamps 10 minutes after the ignition has been turned to the 1 (off) position. -
Isn't the "factory visor" that is on the MKZ a different color...or at least a slightly different color? That is the way it looked to me when checking it out at a couple of local dealers.

Do you have a web site or address/phone number for the auto trim shop that does this?

Wasn't looking for it while I was driving. Finally figured it out...the altitude is not on J1 FFH cars (see Navigation System Supplement 1st printing). My FFH is was built APR 2010 so it does not have the altitude on it. The J2 cars do have it (see Navigation System Supplement 2nd printing) on the NAV "Where am I" page. The altitude can be found on J1 cars by pressing and holding "3" & "6" radio buttons for the diagnostic info, then press GPS Info. Altitude is shown there. And, by the way, you can't be driving the car (moving) when getting the info this way.

Mine will show the longitude and the latitude but no altitude. When you click on "Where am I", according to the Navigation System Supplement (1st printing), there is no altitude. Doing the same, clicking on "Where am I", according to the Navaigation System Supplement (2nd printing), it shows Longitude, Latitude, and Altitude.

And what was causing the rattle?

My 2010 FFH was built APR 2010 and the NAV does not have the altitude on the screen (Navigation System Supplement 1st printing) I would like to update to the current NAV which has altitiude on it (Navigation System Supplement 2nd printing). Can this be done? If so, how difficult? Would appreciate any help.

On my NAV it does not show the altitude (as in 1st printing of NAV). Can one update their NAV to show altitude (as in 2nd printing of NAV)? If so, how is it done? Sure would like to have that info.

Guess that I should have used another topic instead of "worthless" things. When you use the "flash to pass", the high beam indicator comes on when the headlights are "on" and when they are "off", manual or automatic, so that doesn't help to know if the headlights are on. Yes, there is a fog light indicator (hadn't noticed it because of the angle from the driver's line of sight...can be seen better straight on) that would indicate that the headlights are on if you have your fog light switch on. If you have had the DRL's turned on, then you will always have some lights on at the front of the car, no matter. It's the rear end that has NO lights on when just running with the DRL's. I see it all the time with cars that have DRL's...people are driving around, day or night, good weather or bad, thinking that their lights (front and rear) are on, but only the front lights are on, no rears. When the weather is bad, I want my car to be seen, front and back. The "auto" headlamps work great when it is bright daylight or dark, it is the "in between"...the gray, foggy, and/or rainy weather that I don't trust the "auto" lamps to decide for me. Sometimes it is just bright enough for the "auto" lamps to think that it is daytime, but it really isn't safe to be out there with no headlamps and taillights so others can see you. I would just like to have some indicator that would be on when the headlamps are, that's all. In the dark, there is no problem...just in the daylight times that I think that the lights, front and rear, should be on. Thanks for the feedback!

Help. Can't find the altitude...I see the longitude and latitude, but no altitude. Can you point the direction? I agree with you about "the ability to mark as an address point, where you are". Is that possible? Have not figured that one out yet. One thing that I would appreciate is some kind of light and/or indicator, that would let you know if your headlights are "on" in the daytime when you have it in the "auto" position. Here is the gray NW I like to have my headlights on when the visibility is not good (raining, misting, foggy) and it is hard to tell if my headlamps are on. I usually turn them on "manually" just to be sure, but would be nice to know without doing that. On other cars, you could usually tell if the headlamps were on by the dash lights changing to a dimmer setting when they were on, but not so with the FFH. The NAV sometimes changes brightness, but not sure if the headlamps or "on" or "off".

Google "2010 Ford Fusion Grille". One web site that you will find is: http://www.carid.com/2010-ford-fusion-grill/ One is a black mesh and the other is full chrome.

Finally bought my first tank of gas a few days ago. The "miles til empty" showed 11 miles and I put in 15.655 gallons, so I must have had a little less than 2 gallons left. Most of my trips had been short ones so I was never driving very long at any one time. I normally fill up before the car gets that low on fuel, but wanted to see how the FFH gas guage compared to my previous car.

Besides the Saab trunk handle (black or bright mirror-polished stainless steel) mentioned above, you might check out the Mercedes trunk handle, available in satin or polished stainless steel. Both are L-shaped. Don
