It looks better than I imagined it would. I wouldn't stick the bumpers to my hood either.

It just doesn't look good against the white. I actually think the three bar grille fits the Fusion very nicely. It's rare, but for the Fusion...the factory did a great job.

I didn't think I would like the red interior in the Mustang, but love it. If they did something similar with brushed aluminum inserts - it would look killer. You're right - I could see the appeal to younger people too.
