  1. It is the same software update. Didn't help my car, I can only assume the hybrid battery in my car is not working right. And if that is so, the age fix workaround won't fix it.
  2. I went to the Ford dealer under the 22G04 program, but they did nothing since the PCM and BECM had already been updated more than a year ago. I told them there was still a problem with reduced EV-only mode performance even after the software update was done, but they refused to diagnose the problem saying that the 22G04 program only covered the software update. When people refer to the "age fix" is that something different than the software update? Is it putting in a false battery age date to "trick" the software into using the battery. Maybe I have a bad hybrid battery that won't regenerate. Is the Ford dealer the only one who is going to have the equipment necessary to test the hybrid battery?
  3. I still had the problem after a dealer supposedly did the update. So I took it to a second dealer who confirmed that the update was done. I still have low mileage and, in addition, for some reason, the car only takes about 14.5 gallons at fill up instead of 17.
  4. My car supposedly got the update at the dealer, but is still running at 29 mpg. Interestingly, the problem arose after I got the airbag fix.
  5. What is the number of the firmware version we should have if the TSB 20-2142 was properly done?
  6. You didn't answer my question. Can a mechanic determine whether the software has been updated (without driving the car)? Can only a Ford Dealer update the software?
  7. What would a mechanic need to be able to determine if the software update was done correctly or not? I complained to the dealer and they sent me a check for $64.10, which was only an acknowledgement that they overbilled me. ICE does not immediately cut off when I take my foot off the accelerator. It will run in EV mode sometimes, but not 1/2 half the time at 30 mph.
  8. Once the auto-shutoff on the pump hits, I will only round it off and don't fill it to the max. Funny thing is, my fillups this way used to be close to 17 gallons and now they are about 15.5 gallons. That and the continued poor mileage have me wondering what is going on.
  9. Don't know what that's about. Gas stations are still open as usual where I live. No problem. I'd take it down to the last 10 miles if I knew where that was.
  10. No, I never over fill the gas tank. But it's good to know that when the dashboard says its 10 miles to empty, I actually have another 1.5 x 34 miles = 51 miles to go if needed.
  11. I've finally been able to drive on fairly flat roads and I'm not getting the same results. Negligible increase to 34 mpg. Original bill from the dealer was $254. Also strange, fillups are only about 15.5 - 16.0 gallons even though the tank has a capacity of 17.5 gallons. I take it down to about 10 miles until empty according to the dashboard, and it's still only 15.5 gallons.
  12. The mpg seems negligibly better since the update, although I haven't driven the car much. Hard to say because where I live now is so hilly.
  13. Much appreciation to those who documented this online. It has to be noted how long it took for the TSB to be issued. It is after the 8 year warranty for mine (and most 2010-12 models). Charged me $236 even though the TSB seems to indicate only .5 hours labor. I like the car, especially the 700 mi cruising range, but now having researched and learned about the HVB replacement cost, don't know how long I'll hang onto to it. I called around town to see who could diagnose the HVB and even the Ford dealer said they didn't have the equipment to do it.
  14. With the reprogramming, will it consider the battery age, miles and battery condition? There may be little degradation now, but will there be a problem when there is degradation at some point in the future?
