  1. I, too, have a 2015 SE Hybrid. I’ve chosen to do the scheduled major maintenance milestones at the dealership for the reasons you listed in your next to last paragraph. Oil changes, tire rotation and the like are done by local mechanics. BTW, isn’t this the greatest car you’ve had in a long time? Ours has been absolutely trouble free from Day 1.
  2. That’s really impressive! My ‘15 is about to turn 100K and is doing similarly. A great car!
  3. I was a good little doobee when I bought our FFH in late ‘15 and read everything I could find. Then I sat in the car for about an hour and a half going through all the screens. I was amazed at all the menus and sub menus available. Since then I’ve thought of this beauty as a computer on wheels. What a joy!
  4. Thanks. I must have missed it when I was going through things this AM. I’ll check Vehicle menu more closely. Later..... there it was buried down in there. Thanks for your help in relieving my pain.

  6. “Service Tire Mobility Kit” is the message that won’t go away from the left panel of the dash. I’ve replaced the canister in the kit and thought that would miraculously do the trick, but no. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get rid of the message? TIA.
  7. TY. I’m learning more and more about this critter I love so much! The car is always garaged but I suppose driving in a rainstorm would do it. Any known fixes?
  8. TY. That’s a good thought and I’ll focus more attention on that.
  9. With below freezing temperatures with me I’m seeing strange things happening on startup. The Sirius radio doesn’t come on until I’ve driven a quarter of a mile. This is intermittent. The Navigation system is slow, slower and very slow to work. Tonight I drove a mile or so before seeing a notice in the right hand window saying to check main screen as Navigation wasn’t working. I tapped the Navigation bar and the loading signal spun around until it timed out. I repeated the procedure and got the same result. The third effort brought up the screen immediately.. Has anyone had similar experiences?
  10. Not knowing the model year of your FFH, it’s hard to say. From what I’ve read 4-5 years is a normal lifespan of the 12v battery.
  11. Comparing July ‘18 and July ‘19, there’s a difference of about 1 mpg. Of course, the Energy Savers had about 30k more miles on them. Tires are religiously rotated at 5k and inflation is 35 psi. Tire were changed as traction had deteriorated and Winter was here.
  12. That’s really impressive mileage on your oem’s! I thought the 42k that I got was quite good but I’m a real slacker compared with you. I, too, chose the Defender thinking I’d sacrifice some mpg’s for longer tire life. Mpg has dropped a bit but I do believe that handling is better in wet weather. We’ll see about snow later. Overall, I’m satisfied so far with the Defenders after 6k miles on them.
  13. While under warranty, I have oil changed at dealership where they use Ford’s semi-synthetic oil. When the warranty is up I think I’ll go to full synthetic.
  14. Look at the sticker on the drivers door jamb. The build date is the top right item.
