  1. priusfan provided djc on the C-Max Hybrid forum with a test apk and text file. No luck with his Automatic adaptor and as expected, also not with a cheap ELM that works with Torque Pro. He is going to try HA as soon as he gets his OBDLink LX. Anybody here wishing to contact priusfan and give HA a try? Jan
  2. murphy posted a new report, showing the HA team is very close to include the FFE in the list of compatible hybrids. priusfan in fact announced this is upcoming on a French forum. If the FFH community wished HA to also become available for the FFH, a volunteer owner would first have to test the current test version of the program. He would have to contact priusfan on HybridAssistant@gmail.com and report here about his/her progress. Preferably someone who uses an OBDLibk LX or MX BT dongle and that knows how to move files into and out of an Android phone and install an app that doesn't come from the approved source: Settings > Security > Admin of peripherals > Authorize the installation of applications from other sources then the Play Store. Good to know, HA will not become available for iPhone or iPad users. Some acquired an older Android phone or tablet, from Android 4.0 on. Mine for example is a S Note 2. Jan
  3. While waiting for further news from murphy, I've made a video in Miles and Gallons in order to better show you the kind of information HA and HR would give you if the HA team decided to make it available for the FFE & FFH. It is possible to play it at speed x2. Following the recommendations of Recumpence on the C-Max Hybrid forum and the videos of ptJones I'm trying out Pulse & Glide or EV-Coasting while maintaining a SOC higher then 50%. The preciseness of the EV-kW bar in the upper right corner of the HA screen is very helpful: keeping it as close to zero (below 1.0 EV- kW + or -) as possible nearly corresponds to driving in N. It takes some exercise because the gas pedal is quite sensitive (one would need an ECO mode). I managed gliding over nice stretches without rapidly losing speed, but can certainly still get better at it. The tyres are at 39 psi. I'll try 42. It was hot (84 °F) and no AC... Even so, 65 mpg US (probably 5 % less in reality) on this drive is far better then EPA-US and one of the best I had on this trip, which I run frequently! Nevertheless, driving mainly using the ACC gets me 62 mpg under the same conditions and is requiring less attention. I'll keep testing, but doubt P & G will become my main driving style. 4. murphy got assistance from priusfan and they are making progress. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/4981-understanding-your-ffe-better-with-hybrid-assistant-hybrid-reporter/?p=29451 Still a few fixes needed, but there is now reasonable hope that HA will become available for US models of the HF35 hybrid system, both H and E models. Jan
  5. Murphy is trying on his FFE. He gets connexion, but no data shown. I'll keep you posted if any progress is made.
  6. I wish to bring to the attention of the FFH drivers here, Hybrid Assistant, a free Android app which allows one to get much more information on the screen of a well positioned smartphone. I use it all the time and it helps me a lot understanding what happens under the hood and improving my driving style and hence, mileage. The app needs a fast BT OBDII emitter like the OBDLink LX (about 50 $), recommended by their site after extensive testing. In addition to providing real-time information, Hybrid Reporter, another app available on their site, allows for creating detailed reports with tables and graphs, much like the ones produced by LarryH. It were his graphs which convinced me the FFH is a very economic hybrid. Driving in Germany, everything is in metrics, but HA and HR also work with miles and gallons. If you're interested, please visit my message showing some video examples of my use, and have a look at the attached pictures. Jan Report_2017-03-26_11-38-39 Kempten Stuttgart.html
  7. The Niro Hybrid, as its upcoming plug-in sister, has a 6 speed DCT (Double Clutch Transmission). To me, that is not exactly standard. Am I wrong? Jan
  8. The Mondeos LED headlights are also adaptive, much like "matrix" ones. To my knowledge, these are not legal in the USA. If that were true, I can tell you, you're missing something terrific! These headlights are so potent and yet non-blinding, and in addition directional. They follow curves and bend into side streets. This is for hte 2015 model. The design was modified for the 2017 one. 9. Well, I was again warned by e-mail, but your message did not show up, as none of the other new contents. What could be wrong? I checked out my profile, but could not find anything. And I confirm I have no problem in the FE forum. Jan
  10. Thanks for your reaction. In my hands, it almost never shows new messages. For example, I was warned by e-mail yo had posted, but it was not shown as new content. Is it just in my case? Could you possibly check it out for yourself ? On the Fusion Energi Forum, it works fine for me. Jan

My Mondeo Hybrid may well be the only one carrying the sticker of the French Prius Touring Club of which I'm an active member, both in the Club and its Forum.

  21. Hi, all the forums show cross-links, except for the Fusion Hybrid one. Also, no button for recent messages. Can this be changed please? I'm a real fan of this Hybrid, but feel alone here. Is that because the owners have nothing negative nor positive to report? I thought there would be an enthusiastic community, much like I know from PriusChat. Any idea why? Jan
  22. Hi Paul, thanks for the excellent videos. Your mileage is impressive! Which camera did you use and how did you place it at that position? I often use the ACC set on ECO and then, it is the system that decides. The ICE is always kept below the second bar. Since it does not have the stop & start functionality of Sync3, my starting in EV is done like you show. When not using it, I drive much like you, but on highways like those in the video, faster ;) . Enhance is very helpful, but the gauge is a bit small and placed deep. I'll follow your advice and inflate more my Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 215/60 R16 95V tires. Jan
  23. I drive a Mondeo Hybrid (identical to the Fusion) mostly in Germany, the country with the fast highways, France and Belgium (I’m Belgian). I have been driving it now for 5 months and about 8000 miles. My 9 miles drives to work in the warmer season yield 55 - 59 mpg, and on the highway at 90 MPH max, 34 MPG. I drive about 50/50 this type of trips, and my mean and measured consumption so far is 40.50 MPG. Paying at least twice what you do in the USA for gas, fuel consumption is of real concern here. I was driving a 2nd generation Prius for four years before, and got used to driving as economically as possible and also read everything I could in order to understand how the hybrid system works. The contributions by hybridbear convinced me I could drive the Mondeo/Hybrid too in an economic way. I like using Hybrid Assistant, a free Android App that displays on a phone or tablet several useful parameters and allows creating the same type of reports as produced a few years ago by hybridbear, which made this forum so interesting for me. I already used it on my Prius, and priusfan of the HA team has been so kind to adapt it for use with the Ford HF35 hybrid system. So all owners of a recent Fusion Hybrid or Energi could use it. You can learn more about it on their YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZJ5eWI8vAY0haksRkFsbGQ Using an online translator, you could follow my frequent reporting on for example the German language Mondeo-Mk5 Forum. http://mondeo-mk5.de/index.php/Thread/602-Ford-Mondeo-2-0-Hybrid/?pageNo=1 The Dashboard page of their website explains very well HA. Braking quality and forcing battery-ventilation are not available for the Fusion Hybrid (no PIDs available), but the first is well implemented in the Fusion Dashboard. Of course, the reports produced by Hybrid Report remain an excellent complement. HA helps me a lot with optimizing my driving and provides on the side a lot of fun. In my case, everything is in metrics, but HA allows also displaying miles and gallons. Recently, I have been mounting an iTracker mini0086-Pro dashcam. I have set recording in 720p normal resolution, which still gives very clear images. I am in addition using Mobizen for recording screenshots of the HA app while running on my smartphone. On my PC, I use VideoMeld for mounting everything in a HD video. In Germany, the law requires censoring the licence plates and recognizable faces. I do this with the YouTube video editor. It is a bit tedious and takes some exercising, but it works quite well. I have added text indicating when I used the ACC and at which set-speed. I do appreciate VideoMeld for this type of work. I have uploaded some pictures showing how the smartphone and the camera are mounted in the car. You can view my first videos of town driving here. For best viewing quality, please select 720p. The Hybrid Assistant window is the essential one. The trip video is there to help with understanding the context. The HA reports made with Hybrid Reporter can be downloaded from here. Specialists here may wish to study the data on BFSC in g/kWh, a good indicator of engine burning efficiency. The system manages to do this very well, also by staying at the 2 bars, as explained by ptjones here and before by Hybridbear. For downloading them, click on the download button behind the three dots in the upright corner. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nbq60htl31sdufd/Report_2017-08-11_14-10-52.html?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/e1b3m5ouxian5is/Report_2017-08-11_16-34-39.html?dl=0 I would appreciate any feedback and will answer questions with pleasure. 24. Here is a new video in which I had to sacrifice resolution in order to censor licence plates and faces, as the German law requires. Nearby readable licence plates were masked with the dynamic YT videotool which works well, but only allows for 20 objects. I'd have needed 60-80. Too bad, since the tool works well in my hands, although I'm a beginner in videomounting. Other possibilities I studied were way to expensive and too slow while not dynamic. Only high-end software does it. I've added text indicating when I used the ACC and at which set-speed. I do appreciate VideoMeld for this type of work. The result is certainly less nice as the original full HD video, but the essential ist the Hybrid Assistant window. The rest is meant to help with understanding the context. I hope it is still acceptable this way, but that's all I can offer for today. Any feedback will be appreciated and questions will be answered with pleasure. Have a nice day! Jan PS: Improved videos are accessible HERE
