And now I just got a notice that they may have put a non-hybrid fuel pump in and may mess up my emissions...
-
Basically one pin in one harness wasn't connected. They did the reprograms and fuel pump while it was there. All working now and covered under factory warranty!
-
I finally got around to taking the car into the dealer for the Grade Assist switch, they went ahead and did a few of the Service Bulletin items while it was in there like the reprogramming. They had to order a fuel pump for one of them so I won't get her back until tomorrow.
-
It's just a piece of mesh behind the bumper for the pictures, they haven't made the bottom grill yet.
-
I sure would like the bluetooth stream metadata to work. Currently v3.7
Ditto. It displays on the main screen, don't know why that can't be sent to the right screen.
-
Mine is on it's way back down thanks to having to now drive at the start of rush-hour traffic instead of at the tail-end of it.
-
Probably. It's still under factory warranty too so I can take it to the Ford Dealer up the road. On my 1997 Thunderbird the Overdrive on/off button is in the shifter as well, and it's not unheard of to actually break those really thin wires when trying to pull off the gearshift.
-
For the one MPG in the middle just hold the OK button down for 5 sec or so. IIRC it works in any of the main screens like Empower etc.
That worked, thanks!
-
It could be, because the after-shut-off Lifetime is correct, it's just the one that sits in the middle of the left screen all the time is not resetting. And yes, it has 24k on it.
-
So I've noticed that the "Grade assist" button on the shifter doesn't light anything up and doesn't work (the car still picks up speed at the same rate downhill) and the lifetime miliage that displays all the time is still stuck at where I bought it even though I've reset it twice and the lifetime miliage that shows up when shutting the car off changes like it should.
-
Finally got a picture of all 3 Fords as I was getting the 1997 Thunderbird out to head to a car show.

Got one preordered, along with a set of lights.

Enabled track information to be displayed for Bluetooth-streamed media including metadata such as song title, artist name and album title
Previous USB or Bluetooth media source playback now resumed after ignition cycle
The first one I really want. The second one... mine already does this for Bluetooth, first day I got the car it was a bit weird to get in and my phone start streaming music as soon as the car was turned on.

You know there's a whole new class action lawsuit against Ford for 2004 to 2008 F-150s with the 5.4, right?
http://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2015/ford-lawsuit-engine-problems-2004-2008.shtml
Just sayin'! :)
P.S. I did that to my '13 F-150 with the 5.0, only I did Flowmaster 40's. Sounds mean! :happy feet:
I didn't know about that one, but the spark plugs disentegrating in the 5.4L was one of the reasons we got rid of the truck before we had to change them. ;)
As for loud exhaust... I rarely turn on the stereo in this thing, not only do I get the rumble but the whine of the roots blower.

I bought my car at Carmax specifically for the 5 year 100k warranty.

Looks like after a week and a half of single digit lows, 30-40 highs, 2 "ice events" and 2 "snow events" It'll be in the mid 60's next week so I'll pull out the pipe insulation after the ice stops coming down on Sunday.

I'm in Charlotte. In NC I've lived in Raleigh, then Greensboro and now Charlotte. I used to go to The Rock for my 1/4 mile but that's been in decline and Fayetteville has been the track of choice in NC for a few years now.
-
You don't block the grill to keep the ICE warm, you block the grill to reduce drag. That's the whole concept behind the grill shutters that the car already has. The pipe only makes a difference because the shutters are only about 75% efficient.
Well, I'm doing it to keep the Coolant Temp from bottoming out on the freeway in the teens to 20's we've been getting in the morning. Even at it's worst this car is more fuel efficient than any of my vehicles.
Did you post 1/4 mile times for that Thunderbird?
13.1 at Mason Dixon (which is not a flat track) in August. I hope to get it out to Fayetteville next month to see what it can do on a real track and not in the summer heat.
16 is my coworker in his Fiero with a built 350 in it. lol

Because of some recent unresolved problems with transmission failures, i think you should unplug the grille since you are in the US Southern Atlantic Area. It is 84 in SW Fla. today.
My plan is to leave it in until we get consitently into the 60's. It's going to be 40's all this week in NC.

Here's what I put into my black beauties...
I have a cart just for cleaning/polishing supplies, and the bag on the right is my Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher with a few different strengths of abrasive polishes.
The various polishes, Zaino Bros on the left some other items from Auto Fair and Autogeek on the right. Nitrile gloves and a microfiber apron for the actual work...
3x wafflweave microfiber drying towels with foam cores to absorb the water, standard waffle weave towel for glass. I'll also use my cordless leaf blower for blowing water out of mirrors, grills, etc.
Different types of Microfiber towels for removing certain stages of polish.
Applicator pads & sponge for Zaino Bros Products, Pads for the Porter Cable, tire applicator & detail applicators (basically a foam finger mitten)
The Car Show bag. Quick detailer, Tire gloss and sun screen. I'll take one of the grey QD towels with me to the show.
And a washing bucket, soap sprayer, microfiber mitt, sponge & Wheel Woolies
I may be just a bit picky about the exterior appearance. :whistling:
In that bucket is a few leather care items since all 3 cars have black leather seats, and under the buffing towels are some generic microfibers from local stores that will never touch paint to keep the interior nice as well.
