  1. Our 2015, just this morning, had the yellow engine icon on. Took it to our dealer. The diagnosis was "Vapor Management Valve/Canister Purge Valve. Our car has 2946 miles. I never force fuel in after the pump shuts off. I did a search and found a couple of instances where this has happened. Also saw something about a TSB. Anyone have info on this as an ongoing issue? Thank you!

  2. Another question about these cars and oil changes...this car starts and stops frequently. The many starts it can make during a 20 mile stop and go trip will/should INCREASE wear on an engine. And to the person talking about oil changes in Germany...even BMW has a severe duty oil change recommendation...7500 miles, not 15,000. I had Mobil One full synthetic in my 1998 Modified Grand Prix GTX and it had 181,000 miles on it and never needed any added oil between 5000 mile changes. It also had zero engine related issues. It was modded from stock to produce 350 FWD HP and was used as such. But it also got 33 mpg on the highway if I stayed out of the Supercharger. You all have given me good food for thought.

  3. I am wondering if you all use Motorcraft oil or a different brand when you change your oil. I am a fan of full synthetic oil...since the early '90's with a Monte Carlo...to a Supercharged Grand Prix, to a 2010 BMW 335. What say all of you? Also, what mileage interval? I know the manual says 10,000 miles, but do you do a rough service interval at 5,000-7,500 miles? Thanks everyone!

  4. I have what may seem like a dumb question, but, doesn't running your tank near empty damage your fuel pump? Virtually every car I have owned needs to be refueled before the pump gets exposed as it is cooled by the fuel in the tank. With a 13.5 gallon tank, I would feel uncomfortable if it took around 12 gallons to fill up. Can someone either clarify or assuage my fear, please?

  5. Typically, with any car I have purchased, including the BMW in 2010, I have changed the oil at 1,000 miles. I plan on using full synthetic and change the oil at 5-7500 mile intervals. This has served me well with my cars before the BMW. I sold my cars before the BMW when they had between 155,000 and 180,000 miles and both would not even need a quart between oil changes. Did any of you do the same oil change strategy?

  6. At any speed above 65 mph our BMW coupe had a hell of a lot of buffeting with the windows up or down. We had to almost have the roof totally closed to stop it. The dealer had a deflector and mounted it for us and from then on...no more buffeting. I am 6'4" tall and that buffet would make it difficult to drive...not to mention that why have a sunroof when you can't enjoy it?
