I had some sound deadening materials put on the front doors and front floors. They measure about 3dB sound level reduction when I drive on the freeway at around 75mph. 3dB is not a lot. We need about 10dB reduction to notice the noise is half as loud. I am still researching other materials to put on. Tire noises are annoying indeed.

Custom LED DRLs/Directionals
vett93 replied to Ben Sigler's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
Look good. Can you do a video of the LED DRLs outside in the bright day light? -
I agree that the car looks mostly good, except the rear spoiler which looks like from an old Taurus. I am not sure about the power nor the ride though. The ways it drives and handles are definitely nowhere near its good look. This is a car that inspires one to drive slower and conserve energy. I had never owned a car that made me feel less in control than this car. On the other hand, when I drive on HOV lane to work by myself and pass many high performance cars on the slow lanes, I agree that this is the best car to own south of a Tesla.

USB Audio - How to Play Albums Continuously?
vett93 replied to vett93's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
BTW, I don't think "play all albums" is a valid command.... -
Has Ford ever fixed the 12V battery issue? I have 2014 Fusion Energi with a build date of Feb 2014. I am wondering if my car is still impacted by this issue.

USB Audio - How to Play Albums Continuously?
vett93 replied to vett93's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks, Corncobs. The albums I like are recorded at different levels. For example, classical music is typically recorded at a lower volume than others. So if I do "play all", I will have to adjust the volume constantly. Not a good thing when I am driving.... On my previous car, a Mitsu Evo MR, I can select an album to play. Then the system will play that album and other albums from there on. That is much more user friendly..... -
USB Audio - How to Play Albums Continuously?
vett93 replied to vett93's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
What I want is to play Album 1, Album 2, Alum 3, so on and so forth. In other words, I want the system to play the entire album and then play the next album, and the next.... The difficulty I run into is as follows. As an example, I browse and select the first track of Four Seasons. If I select Repeat 1, it will play the first track and repeat the first track. If I select Repeat all, it will play all tracks and then go back to track 1 and continue to the rest of album. If I select Repeat Off, it will play the entire album and stop. I don't want any of the above. In stead, I want to the system to play all the tracks of an album and then find the next album to play. Hope my explanation is clear. -
Daytime Running lights?

Have you driven a Ford lately? Yes, and with DRLs on. -
How do I play album after album's music on the USB audio? When I choose play by album "four seasons", it will play the entire album. But then it stops. I don't want to select another one while I am driving. Ideally, I want to play the "next" album of the same genre. How do you guys handle it? Thanks.

Daytime Running lights?
vett93 replied to Ric's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
Okay. I have some good news to share. I first took my FFE to the Ford dealer where I bought the car from. They told me that it would be illegal for them to turn on DRLs for me in California. They stated that turning on DRLs would be considered as modifying lighting equipment. This sounds like a BS to me.... So I took my FFE to a Ford dealer near my work one afternoon. The service writer had to go in to talk to a few folks. He came out and told me that it is not standard work they do but if I pay them $75, they would gladly do it for me. But he told me that I had to make an appointment to perform the service. So on my way home, I stopped by the Ford dealer near my house. The service writer asked me why I wanted to turn on DRLs. I told him that DRLs may avoid crashes and I feel safer with them on. He told me that he is a certified master technician and he can direct a technician to do that for me. I, with good intention, informed him that it might be against Ford's policy. He politely replied and told me that he cared more about what customers want. So they turned on my DRLs free of charge. I also got a free car wash. Nice folks! -
See message #140 from a Ford rep in the Daytime Running Lights thread. A snippet of it is as follows: "I'm unable to get involved in the DRL issue because they are only supposed to be activated for those who have ordered cars through fleet sales. Technically, your dealers aren't supposed to be activating them for you. I definitely can't stop you from telling one another where to go or how to do it, but I'm not able to facilitate any of it. " My Ford dealer even told me that it is illegal for them to turn on the DRLs for me in California. Go figure....

Daytime Running lights?

I took my 2 week old FFE Titanium to the dealer in SF Bay area where I bought the car from. I asked the service dept. to turn on the DRLs. They told me that it is illegal to turn on these DRLs in California. The service writer and his manager insisted that it is illegal to modify lighting equipment and turning on DRLs would be modifying factory lighting equipment. Hard to believe....
