  1. I think this was covered here in some other topics, but just want to reply to this that a 2016 FFH eCVT will work in a 2013. The key is to have the VIN of the donor car and check to make sure the transmission part numbers are the same, which I believe is JM5Z-7000-ARM.
  2. The ecvt in my wife's '13 Fusion started making the loud wheel bearing type noise back around March of this year. It got progressively louder, but the vehicle could still be driven. I found a used ecvt from a 2016 at a salvage yard for $1800 and took on the r&r myself with the help of my 19yr old son. We finished the job yesterday and all is well. The salvage yard didn't add a core charge, but I have seen some of these offered as rebuilt units. Does anyone know if the old ecvt has any value? If it's of any use for reference/stats: We bought the '13 new, it has 120,300 miles on it now, I would guess the ecvt started making noise somewhere around 117k or so. We followed the Ford workshop procedure, which was pretty straightforward. There was a coolant line that needed to be removed to access one of the top trans to engine bolts that wasn't in the instructions. Having a transmission jack is almost a necessity for this as the ecvt if very heavy... I believe it weighs around 300-350lbs. I had a lot of trouble getting clearance with the brake lines, it was a very tight fit. Probably ended up with about 20 hours total, we weren't in a hurry. A lot of time looking at the instructions and trying to figure out what we were supposed to be removing next. This is not a job for someone that hasn't done engine/trans removal before. It takes a lot of patience and a decent set of tools.
  3. My wife and I also thought the payback on the Energi wasn't worth the additional cost. Our optioned out FFH SE stickered for $35.5k. The dealer we bought from had about 8 Fusion Energi's, average sticker about $44k. Even the salesman we worked with said the Energi wasn't worth the price.
